B. Prior Art A grinding wheel made of a rotating disk with sandpaper fixed to it is commonly used as a tool for finishing the surface of workpieces. Conventional grinding wheels have sandpaper cut into many bands radially planted on the outer surface of a rotating disk to form a relatively low-rigid grinding surface that easily deforms when a workpiece is pressed against it. (See Figure 1). In such a grinding wheel G, the sand paper 1 is easily turned toward the rear side in the direction of rotation by being pressed by the workpiece and is then collapsed, so the grinding force acting on the workpiece decreases rapidly and is not sufficient for practical use. It becomes difficult to maintain proper grinding ability. On the other hand, rigid grinding stones made by sintering granular abrasive materials such as carbon random or alundum are commonly used as grinding wheels, but such grinding stones do not allow the workpiece to be ground on the rigid grinding surface. When they come into contact with each other, a so-called chatter phenomenon occurs and the stability of holding the workpiece is impaired. As a result, the accuracy of grinding the workpiece is reduced, and the operator is forced to work under very tiring working conditions.

D Example: Sand was applied radially at 5 mm intervals from the outer circumferential surface of a rotating disc 3 made of mild steel with a diameter of 80 mm and a width of 30 mm toward the axis.
A paper insertion groove 2 was bored, and the proximal end 1' of the sand paper 1 cut to a width of 29 mm and a length of 100 mm was inserted and fixed into the sand paper insertion groove 2.
In this embodiment, the base end 1' of the sand paper 1 is connected to the first rotating disk 3 by the second rotating disk 3' which is fitted into the rotating disk 3 from the side.
The sand paper 1 is sandwiched between the inner circumferential surface of the sand paper 1 and the outer circumferential surface of the second rotating disk 3', but any fixing means such as adhesive may be used as long as the sand paper 1 can be fixed in a fixed state without falling off. The sand paper 1 can also be fixed in the insertion groove 2 by this method. An elastic support member 4 made of soft rubber with a height of 40 mm, a width of 29 mm, and a thickness of 4.9 mm is inserted between the plurality of pieces of sand paper 1 protruding from the surface of the rotating disk 3, and the back side of the sand paper 1 is Using the adhesive applied to B, the sand paper 1 and the elastic support member 4 were bonded into an integral structure. Thereafter, the tip 1'' of the sand paper 1 extending outward from the top 4' of the elastic support member 4 is partially glued between adjacent pieces of sand paper, so that the ground surface S is directed toward the front side. A protective cloth layer 5 was adhered to the side end surface of the elastic grinding wheel G to function as a shape retention improving member for the sand paper 1.The above explanation was made. In order to make it easier to understand, the sheet-like abrasive material is generally referred to as "sand paper," but the material of the sheet to which the fine powder or fine-grain abrasive material is bonded is only paper. This should not be construed as limiting, and any known sheet-like base material can be selected from known sheet-like base materials, including fabrics made of fiber yarns. In addition, in the illustrated embodiment, solid However, in order to further improve the elastic deformability when the grinding surface S of the sand paper 1 is pressed by a workpiece (not shown), the elastic support member 4 is made of hollow soft rubber. Alternatively, it may be formed from a flexible plastic material.

As mentioned above, the tip 1'' of the sand paper 1 extends outward from the top 4' of the elastic support member 4.
is partially adhered with an adhesive, but when adhering this tip 1'', the top part 4 of the elastic support member 4 is attached in order to give the ground surface S an appropriate rigidity that balances the elasticity of the elastic support member 4. It is desirable to firmly adhere the tip 1'' to the two adjacent pieces of sandpaper 1, 1 with a gap 6 left between the tip 1'' and the two adjacent pieces of sandpaper 1, 1. For this reason, an elastic support member 4 is provided at the tip 1''.
An adhesive having a higher bonding strength than the adhesive used for adhering the back surface B of the sand paper 1 and the back surface B of the sand paper 1 is applied.

In addition, in the embodiment illustrated in FIG. 2 above,
The top 4' of the elastic support member 4 is deflected by a certain distance in the direction opposite to the rotational direction of the rotating disk 3 and curved in a spiral shape, and its surface is glued to the back surface B of the sand paper 1. In a different embodiment, the elastic support members 4 can also be arranged radially toward the axis of the rotary disk 3.

E. Effect of the invention As is clear from the above explanation, the elastic grinding wheel according to the invention ensures stable grinding conditions without vibration or chatter, and also has a rigid grinding wheel on the upper side of the highly elastic support member. It forms a surface. Therefore, the grinding accuracy of the workpiece is significantly improved compared to when using conventional grinding wheels.
Furthermore, since the workpiece can be held easily, it can have a significant effect on reducing worker fatigue.
