Conventionally, in two-seater scooter-type motorcycles, the pillion step for the rear passenger is
It is attached to the side of the vehicle behind the step floor for the driver. Since the seat for rear passengers is usually located at a higher position than the seat for the driver, it is desirable that the pillion step also be located at a higher position than the step floor in order to make it easier to rest your feet on the seat. Also, since it is located on the side of the vehicle, it protrudes to the left and right when in use, which is not aesthetically pleasing.

Figure 1 is a side view of a scooter type motorcycle, with a low step floor 3 between the front wheel 1 and the rear wheel 2.
It has a rear body 5 that stands up above the rear part of the step floor 3 and supports a seat 4. A leg shield 6 stands up from the front part of the step floor 3. The rear body 5 covers the engine and various auxiliary equipment, and as shown in perspective views such as FIG. (represented by reference numeral 5b), the interior space of the rear body 5 is enlarged, making it easier to accommodate auxiliary equipment. The seat 4 has a driver seat 4a and a rear passenger seat 4b integrated into one, but the rear passenger seat 4b is slightly higher.

In the present invention, the front side portion 5 of the rear body 5
a is located inside the width of the step floor 3, and a rectangular notch 5c is provided in the front side 5a, and the pillion step 8 rotates around a pivot 7 attached to the rear body 5 near the lower side of this notch 5c. The inner wall 5d is provided at the back of the notch 5c. When the pillion step 8 is not in use, it is housed in the notch 5c as shown in FIG. 1, so that it is locked flush with the front side part 5a, and when in use, the pillion step 8 is fixed flush with the front side part 5a as shown in FIG. By tilting the step 8 inward or outward as shown in FIGS. 3A and 3B, it can be locked substantially horizontally. The pivot shaft 7 is located at a higher position than the step floor 3.

In a motorcycle configured as described above,
Since the pillion step 8 is provided on the front surface of the rear body 5 and is used by rotating in the front and back direction, it does not protrude from side to side as in the past, does not get in the way, and is aesthetically pleasing. . When the pillion step 8 is used with it tilted inward, it does not protrude at all, so the appearance is even better. Furthermore, even when not in use, the pillion step 8 is flush with the front surface of the rear body 5, and
This is also desirable in terms of appearance since it is hidden behind the driver's feet and is not noticeable. Furthermore, the pillion step 8 is located at a higher position than the step floor 3,
The distance between the left and right pillion steps 8 is narrower than that provided on the side of the conventional vehicle body, and the rear body 5
Both side surfaces 5e of the central protrusion 5a are convenient for rear passengers to place their knees on, and the notches 5c
Since the footrest area can be increased by that amount, the degree of freedom in footrest is increased, and the rear passenger can rest his or her feet on the pillion step 8 in a comfortable posture.

Figures 4 and 5 show the second embodiment,
A recess 5f is formed in the rear body 5, and the recess 5f
A pillion step 9 is provided so that the pillion can be stored.
That is, the pillion step 9 is a steel base plate 9.
A non-slip rubber 9b and a coating 9c of the same material and color as the rear body 5 are formed on both sides of the substrate 9a, and a semicircular arc portion 10a and a radius portion 10
The semicircular arc portion 1 of the arm 10 that is integrated with b.
The end on the side 0a is fixed by welding, and the end on the center side of the radius portion 10b of this arm 10 is rotatably supported on a bracket 11 fixed to the rear body 5 on a pivot shaft 12.
A roller 13 is attached to the radial side end of the radial arc portion 10a, and an arcuate guide hole 1 is formed in the bracket 11.
The roller 13 is fitted to 1a. In addition,
The recess 5f of the rear body 5 has a hole 5g through which the semicircular arc portion 10a of the arm 10 passes. Thus, in the pillion step 9, the roller 13 attached to the arm 10 is guided by the guide hole 11a and can rotate around the pivot 12. When the pillion step 9 rotates forward, the roller 13 is attached to the upper end of the guide hole 11a. As shown by the two-dot chain line in FIG. 5, the seat is latched so that it is tilted upward at an appropriate angle θ with respect to the horizontal direction so that the feet can be placed comfortably.

The pillion step 9 of the above embodiment is stored in the recess 5f of the rear body 5 as shown by the solid line in FIG. 4B and FIG. Fold it forward as shown. When not in use, pillion step 9 is connected to rear body 5.
is flush with the front of the rear body 5, and the surface is flush with the front of the rear body 5.
Since the surface is the same as that of In addition, when in use, the front seat is tilted upward at an appropriate angle θ, so that the rear passenger can rest his or her feet in a comfortable position. Furthermore, since a space is formed at the rear near the center of rotation of the pillion step 9 by the recessed portion 5f, the footrest area is expanded and the footrest becomes easier.

A recess 5h is formed in the recess 5h, and a pillion step 14 is provided so as to be able to be stored in the recess 5h. is fixed directly to. The end of this pivot 15 is connected to a boss 16, 1 fixed to the outside of the recess 5h.
7, one boss 16 has a notch 16a in a certain angular range in the circumferential direction, and a stopper 15a integrally formed at the end of the pivot 15.
is arranged within the notch 16a. In addition, 1
8 is a circlip for preventing slippage, 15a is a base plate of the pillion step 15, 15b is a non-slip rubber, and 15c is a coating.

Similarly to the second embodiment, the pillion step 15 of the above embodiment is stored in the recess 5h of the rear body 5 when not in use, and is tilted forward when in use. In this case, the pivot 15 that is integral with the pillion step 14 rotates, and the stopper 15a at the end of the pivot 15 rotates.
Rotation is restricted by hitting the end face of the notch 16a,
As shown in FIG. 6, it is locked in an upwardly tilted state.

As explained above, in the present invention, a pair of left and right pillion steps are arranged on the front of the rear body so that they can rotate between two positions: a nearly horizontal position when in use, and a position along the rear body surface when not in use. In addition, when these pillion steps are rotated to the position when not in use, the pillion steps protrude from side to side because a recess is formed that accommodates each pillion step and is almost flush with the rear body. and therefore does not get in the way.
The appearance is also good. Furthermore, since the pillion step can be provided at a higher position than the step floor without spoiling the appearance, rear passengers can rest their feet in a comfortable position. In addition, the recess opens the area around the pillion step in the use position to expand the footrest area, thereby increasing the degree of freedom for footrest. By storing it in the rear body and making it flush with the surface of the rear body, it improves the appearance.Furthermore, by raising the front, the footrest for the rear passengers is further improved, and other excellent effects are achieved. It is.
