Abstract

PURPOSE:To repair a welded stepped part with a predetermined film thickness without increasing the use amount of paint, by using a nozzle forming a spray pattern having nearly crisscross shape and specifically positioning said nozzle with respect to a welded part to perform painting. CONSTITUTION:A metal drum body 8 is formed by applying mash seam electric resistance welding to the superposed part of a drum body molding material such as a tin plated steel plate and the inner surface of the drum body 8 in the vicinity of the welded part 3 between the end parts of inner surface side corrosion resistant films 5 comes to a metal exposed surface 6. Coating is performed by directing a nozzle 11 so that a first coating film 14 is almost at a right angle to the advance direction of the welded part 3 and the metal exposed surface 6 and the end parts 5a of the films 5 are covered and a second paint film 5 corresponds to the vicinity of the upper corner 4a of the step part 4 of the welded part 3. Therefore, a formed coating film 7 becomes relatively thick in the vicinity of the upper corner 4a and shows good corrosion resistance.

(Problem to be Solved by the Invention) When manufacturing metal can bodies for metal cans for storing carbonated drinks, juices, other foods, etc. by welding, a matshu seam welding method is usually adopted, and the welds formed The portion 3 has a stepped portion 4 as shown in FIG. The repair is carried out by forming a coating film 7 on the ends 5a, 5a of the coating film 5 that has been formed in advance, as well as on the exposed metal surface 6 of the welded part 3 and its vicinity. 2, the coating film 7 near the upper corner 4a of the stepped portion 4 tends to become thinner as shown in the figure due to the paint flowing down along the stepped portion 4.
A problem arises in that the corrosion resistance in the vicinity of a decreases.

If the total amount of coating is increased, the thickness of the coating near the upper corner portion 4a will also be increased. However, as shown in FIG. 6, the planar paint film 2 generally tends to be particularly thick at both end portions 2a due to tail formation of the spray.

In addition, especially in order to obtain a planar paint film 2, the discharge pressure must be lowered, and this tendency is even more pronounced. In the above case, there is a risk that the thickness of the coating film 7 on the coating film end portion 5a will be increased unnecessarily, increasing the amount of paint used, and causing an increase in production costs. Furthermore, as the coating film thickness increases, the time required for drying and baking also increases.

(Means for Solving the Problems and Their Effects) In the present invention, a first planar paint film and a second planar paint film are formed so that the first paint film extends in the advancing direction of the welded part. The weld is repaired by applying a second paint film near the upper corner of the stepped portion of the weld at a substantially right angle.

Therefore, the first paint film is applied to the entire exposed metal portion near the weld in the width direction. At the same time, the area near the top corner of the stepped portion is coated with a second paint film, especially a large amount of paint, so that the coating film near the top corner becomes particularly thin, even if the overall coating amount is not particularly large. Instead, a coating film having a relatively uniform thickness as a whole is formed in the vicinity of the weld to be repaired.

In FIG. i1 and FIG. 2, 11 is an airless FV-nozzle, and the nozzle opening 12 has four chevron-shaped portions 12B projecting at right angles to each other, as shown particularly clearly in FIG. It is shaped like a cross. The spray/4' turn 13 of the non-atomized area thus formed by the sougret nozzle 11 is formed by the first planar paint film 14 and the second planar paint film 15 intersecting each other at right angles, as shown in FIG. As shown in FIG. 7, it has a cross-shaped cross section.

The metal can body 8 is formed by welding the overlapped portions of can body molded bodies made of metal blanks such as tin-plated steel plates and tin-free steel by electric resistance welding. Reference numeral 5 denotes a corrosion-resistant coating film (e.g., epoxy/phenol baked coating film) that is preformed on the inner surface (llll), and the inner surface near the welding part 3 between the ends 5 a and 5 a becomes a metal exposed surface 6 . There is.

The application is carried out so that the first paint film 14 is approximately perpendicular to the direction of movement of the welded part 3 and covers the exposed metal surface 6 and the ends 5a, 5a of the paint film 5, and the second paint film is 15 is applied to the vicinity of the upper course (convex corner) 4a of the stepped portion 4 of the welding portion 3. Therefore, the coating film 7 formed becomes relatively thick near the upper corner 4a,
Since the paint partially flows outward in the width direction from this portion, a coating film 7 having a relatively uniform thickness is formed as a whole.

By appropriately determining the amount of spray, the transfer speed of the metal can body 8, the viscosity of the paint, etc., the thickness of the coating film on the upper corner portion 4a after drying is approximately within a predetermined range (5 to 20 μm, preferably 15 μm). You can store it.
