Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide condition for improving the cleaning capacity of a blade to a fur brush by setting up the rotational directions of the fur brush and a photosensitive body so as to make a prescribed angle. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive body 10 is rotated in a direction A and the fur brush 11 is rotated in a direction B inclined from the direction A by a prescribed angle theta. The shaft 12 of the fur brush 11 is pivoted by bearings 13, 14 of the body and a timing belt 18 is wound around a driven pulley 15 fixed on one end of the shaft 12, a driving pulley 16 and an intermediate idle roll 17. When the photosensitive body 10 is rotated in the direction A and the fur brush 11 is rotated in the direction B, the force received from the fur brush 11 acts on residual toner with an angle theta, so that the residual toner is efficiently dispersed, and after the passage of the fur brush 11, the residual toner can be efficiently cleaned without forming stripes of residual toner.

(従来技術) ブレードとファーブラシを併用して感光体上の残留トナ
ーを除去するようにした電子写真装置のクリーニング装
置は周知である。この場合ファーブラシはトナーを積極
的に除去する作用又は分散させる作用をもち、いずれの
場合にもブレードのクリーニング能力の余裕度を向上さ
せるものである。しかし第2図に示す如くファーブラシ
1の回転方向Aと感光体2の回転方向Bとが一致してい
たので、残留トナー3が回転方向にのみ力を受はファー
ブラシ1の機械的バラツキ、経時劣化によりブラシの毛
の長さ、密度のかたよりがあるとファーブラシ1通過後
の残留トナー3′の状態が回転方向に筋状となってしま
う、ところでブレードは一般的に感光体回転方向の筋状
残留トナーに対して能力が低く、特にエツジが摩耗した
時に顕著であり、かえってブレードのクリーニング能力
が低下してしまうという問題点があった。
