軟らかい材質が使用され、長期間にわたつて使用
するような場合は石綿などの弾力性のある材質が
好ましい。尚、実施例ではこぶ状の小突起7をコ
イルパツキンの内外周に設けているが外周のみで
もよい。以上のように本考案に係るコイルパツキ
ンは、断面角形の紐状コイルパツキンの角部にこ
ぶ状の小突起を適宜間隔に形成したから、グラン
ド部に装着したとき、リング状にしたコイルパツ
キン本体と重なり合うパツキン本体との間でこぶ
状の小突起が潰され、外周に生じた隙間tが適当
間隔で閉塞される。その結果、従来のようにパツ
キン本体の外周に生じた隙間tを伝つて内部流体
が、外部に漏洩することがない。しかも、本考案
のコイルパツキンをポンプ等のグランド部に適用
した場合装着時の初期調整は従来のように必要以
上に締め付けることがないから、摩耗抵抗が少な
く、軸への焼付けを防ぐと共に軸回転トルクを低
くおさえることができる。
