Now, when the weft conveyor 1 is inserted into the warp opening by crossing the path Y1 of the weft Y which is connected to the woven fabric W from the weft supply section through the tensor 12 and the weft guide hole 13, the warp The push-up piece 10a is the path
The warp dividing point 9a passes above the route Y1 , and the warp dividing point 9a passes below the route Y1 . Therefore, the weft Y follows the first weft guide curve C
1 into the thread groove 11. As the weft conveyor 1 is inserted (moved to the left in FIG. 2), the weft Y moves along the first weft guide curve C1.
The second weft guide curve C2 then guides the weft from the guide curve C2 to the guide section 7a provided at the tip of the upper gripping piece 7. During this time, the weft conveyor 1 moves almost to the position shown in FIG.
The weft yarn Y is carried to an area where it can be cut by a weft yarn cutting device 14 provided near the edge of the woven fabric W, as indicated by Y2 . Note that the weft cutting device 14 has a fixed blade 1.
4a, and a movable blade 14b that is moved upward. When the weft yarn Y is carried to the position indicated by Y2 , it begins to enter the gripping portion H formed between the gripping pieces 5 and 7. When the weft conveyor 1 is inserted further from the position shown in FIG. 2, the weft Y enters deep into the grip H and comes into contact with a stopper 5a provided on the lower grip piece 5. When the weft Y is in contact with the stopper 5a, the grip of the weft Y is sufficient, and it is most desirable to cut the weft Y by the weft cutting device 14 in this state. Generally, this cutting operation is performed when the weft yarn Y has been conveyed to the position indicated by Y3 .

By the way, the weft conveying body 1 of this conventional configuration has the following defects. That is, when the weft Y starts to be introduced into the gripping part H at the position indicated by Y2 , when the weft Y is conveyed to the position indicated by Y4 in FIG.
4 and the grip part H, and the weft cutting device 14
There is a risk that the wire may come off the device 14 before it is cut. For this reason, it has conventionally been necessary to provide a mechanism to prevent the weft from coming off the cutting device 14.

In addition, the weft Y passes through the first weft guide curve C1, the second weft guide curve C2, and the guide section 7a to the grip section H.
However, the timing at which the weft yarn Y starts to be introduced into the gripping portion H is not constant. Therefore, the weft Y is the second
In some cases, the weft yarn Y may be securely gripped by the time it is brought to the position indicated by Y2 in the figure. In between, the weft yarn Y is once relaxed, and the similar yarn Y becomes tense again near the position indicated by Y3 . At this time, an impact force is applied to the weft yarn Y, and there is a risk that the weft yarn Y may be cut by the impact force before being cut by the cutting device 14. This is particularly noticeable in weak yarns and fine count yarns, and is the reason why these yarns are not suitable for rapier looms. Furthermore, variations occur in the timing of gripping the weft yarn Y, and the lengths of the weft ends become irregular, or the weft ends become long, resulting in loss of weft yarns.

Now, as shown in FIG. 7, among the pair of weft selection levers 21 and 22 that insert and guide the weft yarns Ya and Yb supplied from a pair of weft supply units (not shown), one of the weft selection levers 21 After the weft yarn Ya is moved down based on the selection program and placed within the movement locus of the weft yarn conveying body 1, the weft yarn conveying body 1 starts weft insertion in synchronization with the weaving operation. When the weft conveyor 1 is moved toward the opening formed by the warp T across the path Y1 of the weft yarn Ya connected to the woven fabric W through the tensor 12 and the weft selection lever 21, the warp is pushed up. The path of the piece 10a shown in FIG.
The warp dividing point 9a passes above the route Y1 , and the warp dividing point 9a passes below the route Y1 . Therefore, the weft Y follows the first weft guide curve C
1 into the thread groove 11. As the weft conveyor 1 is inserted, the weft Ya is inherited from the first weft guide curve C1 to the second weft guide curve C2. From this state, the weft yarn conveying body 1 moves to the position shown in FIG. 4, and the weft yarn Ya becomes as shown by Y2 .
While being carried to the area where the weft thread can be cut by the weft cutting device 14, the weft thread Ya is in contact with the second weft guide curve C2 and the regulating portion 16a, as shown in FIG. Therefore, the part of the weft yarn Ya in contact with the second weft guide curve C2 is restricted from moving in the direction opposite to the traveling direction of the weft conveyor 1, and the part of the weft yarn Ya in contact with the regulating part 16a is restricted from moving downward. . Therefore, the weft
Ya does not cross the switching part P and shift to the third weft guide curve C3 side, so the weft Ya
There is no risk that the material will be introduced into the gripping part H. Furthermore, the weft conveyor 1 moves from the position shown in FIG.
Even while moving to the position shown in the figure, the contact part of the weft yarn Ya with the second weft guide curve C2 is restricted from moving in the direction opposite to the traveling direction of the weft yarn conveying body 1, and the contact part with the restriction part 16a is directed downward. regulated the transition to
There is no possibility that the weft thread passes beyond the switching part P and moves to the third weft guide curve C3 side.

That is, the weft yarn Ya is conveyed to the position shown by Y4 in FIG. 6 without being introduced into and gripped by the gripping section H.
Therefore, in this embodiment, unlike the case of the weft yarn conveying body having the conventional structure, the weft yarn Ya is loosened and detached from the weft yarn cutting device 14, or the weft yarn
Ya was grasped too early, and the same thread Ya was once relaxed and then tensed again, and the impact force at this time caused the weft thread Ya to tighten.
There is no risk of it breaking out.

When the weft conveyor 1 further moves from the position shown in FIG. 6, the contact part of the weft yarn Ya with the regulating part 16a moves beyond the conversion part P to the third weft guide curve C3 side, and the downward shift is regulated. It will be resolved. Therefore, the transition of the weft yarn Ya in the contact portion with the second weft guide curve C2 in the direction opposite to the traveling direction of the weft conveying body 1 is also released. As a result, the weft Ya is the second
The weft guide curve C2 is inherited by the third weft guide curve C3, and further, as shown in FIG. 8, the weft guide curve C2 is introduced into the weft grip H. Then, when the weft conveyor 1 moves further, the weft yarn Ya enters deep into the grip part H, and the stopper 20 formed on the hanging piece 20
a and is securely gripped. Therefore, the weft
Grasping of Ya is started at a fixed position indicated by Y 4 in Fig. 6, and the subsequent reliable grasping is also carried out almost at a fixed position, that is, a position slightly to the left of the position indicated by Y 4 . . That is, in this embodiment, unlike the case of the weft yarn conveying body having the conventional configuration, the time to start gripping the weft yarn Ya and the time to securely grip it are always constant, and therefore, as described above,
It is possible to solve the phenomenon of unexpected breakage of weak yarns and fine count yarns, which was considered to be a difficult problem in the past, and it is also possible to weave multicolored fabrics with different count yarns and different types of yarns. It is possible to reliably prevent the weft from being removed from the cutting device 14, and there is no need to provide a mechanism for preventing the weft from being removed.

is inserted into the warp opening while holding the end of the weft yarn Ya. Then, when the weft yarn Ya is delivered to the weft receiving body (not shown), the weft conveying body 1 returns to the weft insertion standby position again, and at the same time, the weft yarn Ya is beaten to the woven fabric W1, and the weft selection lever 21 is moved up and returned to its original position, and the other weft selection lever 22 is moved down based on the weft selection program, so that the weft Yb is placed within the movement locus of the weft transport body 1.
