Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the sudden start of a vehicle by equipping the vehicle with an emergency electronic control device for the backup of a main electronic control device, and controlling a clutch to be 'OFF' when the speed of the vehicle is below a predetermined value. CONSTITUTION:When a key switch has been turned 'ON' and voltage has been applied to a main electronic control device 13 and an emergency electronic control device 17, the main electronic control device 13 generates a signal for the diagnosis thereof and first outputs the signal toward the emergency electronic control device 17. Then, the device 17 reads the diagnosis signal and makes judgement as to whether the signal is normal or abnormal. Also, when the signal is abnormal, judgement is made as to whether the speed of a vehicle is less than a predetermined value or not. When the speed is below the predetermined value, the emergency electronic control device 17 actuates an emergency solenoid valve V3, thereby turning a clutch 'OFF'. According to the aforesaid constitution, control for turning the clutch 'OFF' is made depending upon the speed of the vehicle, when the main electronic control device 13 has failed. Therefore, the sudden start of the vehicle against a driver's intention can be prevented.

3 is a main electronic control device composed of a microcomputer, which includes an engine rotation sensor, an accelerator pedal depression amount sensor,
Signals from a vehicle speed sensor (both not shown) are input, and the clutch actuator 4 is actuated based on these signals.
The on/off control is performed using solenoid valves v1 and v2. 1 is a pump that supplies pressure to the clutch actuator 4, and 2 is a tank. The aforementioned clutch actuator 4 has a spring-biased structure and is of the type in which pressure is applied only to one side. The clutch actuator 4 is of a type in which pressure is applied only to one side. This is done so that the clutch is connected when the solenoid valves (1) and (v2) are off.

なお、常時断タイプのクラッチアクチュエータもある。Note that there is also a permanently disconnected type clutch actuator.

For example, in an automatic transmission system that uses the above-mentioned automatic clutch/clutch device, a stopped vehicle may suddenly jump out. That is, in the above-mentioned automatic latch device, if the clutch is currently in a disengaged state (solenoid valve V and ■2 on) and the gear is in the starting gear and waiting for start, the main electronic control device 3, if a physical or soft failure such as runaway occurs and solenoid valve v2 is turned on, the clutch will be brought into contact by the spring force of the clutch spring, against the driver's will. On the contrary, the vehicle may jump out, and even in automatic clutch devices that use a permanently disconnected clutch actuator,
If the clutch were to disengage while driving downhill, there was a risk that the engine brake would not work.

The waveform forming means of the main electronic control unit 13 always creates a pulse waveform with a period of TI = T2 = 10 (mspc) (50% duty) using software, and sends it to the emergency electronics via the transmitting means. It is sent without interruption in the direction of the control device 17. The diagnostic signal consisting of this pulse is received by the receiving means of the emergency electronic control device 17. The diagnostic means of the emergency electronic control device 17 checks whether the pulse widths t1 and t2 are within a predetermined width each time a diagnostic signal such as the one described above is received by the receiving means. When it receives a predetermined number of diagnostic signals that are not within a predetermined value, or when a predetermined number of pulses are missing, the main electronic control unit 13 determines that it is unable to create a pulse having a predetermined width due to some kind of failure, It is determined that the main electronic control unit 13 is abnormal.
