Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce abrasion of a printing member, by producing an ink ribbon through impregnation or coating with an ink comprising a coloring agent consisting of a dye or a nigrosine-lake pigment, an oil and a dispersant as main constituents. CONSTITUTION:A dye or a nigrosine-lake pigment is added as a coloring agent to an oil which is a vehicle, together with a predetermined amount of a dispersant, and the mixture is uniformly kneaded by, for example, a tripple roll mill to prepare an ink. The ink is infiltrated into or applied to an ink ribbon fabric to obtain an ink ribbon. The lake pigment is preferably used in an amount of 2-20wt% in the ink, and the particle diameter of the pigment particles is preferably not more than 5mum. The ink ribbon fabric may be, for example, cotton, silk or nylon fabric.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION [Field of Industrial Application] The present invention significantly reduces wear of ink ribbons used in printing devices such as dot printers and belt-type printers, and more specifically, the wear of type members of terminals of printing devices. This invention relates to an ink ribbon that can be reduced.

Problems to be solved by the invention C] However, in this type of printing member, the printing surface easily wears out due to continuous operation over a long period of time.
There is a drawback that the obtained printed image becomes extremely unclear. For example, in the case of a dot printer using a printing member made of tungsten, the type member wears out about one square inch from the tip after about 1,000 hours of continuous operation. In addition, in the case of a belt-type printer that uses an iron printing member with a chrome-plated surface,
Due to wear caused by long-term operation, the chrome plating peels off and the exposed iron corrodes, resulting in the disadvantage that the type member must be replaced after 10 million line prints.

The inventor of the present invention has conducted various studies to determine the cause of this problem, and has discovered that the main cause of this problem is the components of the ink that is impregnated or applied to the ink ribbon used in this type of printing device.

The ink that is impregnated or coated on this type of ink ribbon is usually prepared by adding carbon black and oil-soluble dyes as colorants together with a dispersant to an oil vehicle, and then uniformly kneading these. However, when printing with an ink ribbon impregnated or coated with ink made of this component, the print density is darker and the print quality is free from smearing, compared to those using only oil-soluble dyes. You can make something good, but
It is well recognized that since the hardness is hard and secondary aggregation occurs, the printed image after continuous printing becomes extremely unclear compared to the initial printed image.

Therefore, as a result of further research, the inventor of the present invention found that by using special components of the ink that is impregnated or applied to the ink ribbon used in this type of printing device, the resulting ink ribbon does not have the above-mentioned drawbacks. However, the present invention was completed based on the discovery that the present invention has excellent effects such as significantly reducing the wear of various type members.

The ink used in the present invention is prepared by adding a predetermined amount of a coloring agent (dye or nigrosine lake pigment) to an oil vehicle together with a dispersant and uniformly kneading the mixture using, for example, a three-roll mill. The ink ribbon of the present invention can be obtained by impregnating or coating an ink ribbon base with the ink obtained thereby.

Dyes or (and) nigrosine lake pigments are used as coloring agents in inks containing oils, colorants, and dispersants as the main components, and ink ribbons impregnated or coated with these inks are usually coated with the ink as a vehicle. The synergistic effect of the lubricity of the oils contained therein, such as mineral oil, animal/vegetable oil, and the lubricity of the dye or/and nigrosine lake pigment, provides an extremely excellent lubrication effect. In other words, both dyes and nigrosine lake pigments used as coloring agents have the property that due to their composition structure, the folds between adjacent thin films tend to shift due to a slight external force, and they also have good dispersibility. It exhibits excellent lubricity, and its lubrication effect and the lubricity of the above-mentioned oils contained in the ink work together to produce an excellent lubrication effect.

The nigrosine lake pigment is preferably contained in the ink in an amount of 2 to 20% by weight, because if the amount of the nigrosine lake pigment added exceeds the above range, the fluidity of the ink will deteriorate; On the other hand, if it becomes smaller, the lubricity of the ink will decrease. On the other hand, the particle size of the nigrosine lake pigment is preferably in the range of 5μ or less and 0.5μ or more, because if the particle size becomes larger than the above range, the above-mentioned lubricating effect decreases, This is because the smaller the size, the lower the hiding power.
