Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce an amount of leakage, by using V-type molding packing consisting of a composition containing oxybenzoyl polyester and tetrafluoroethylene as gland packing. CONSTITUTION:A packing ring 2 of gland packing for a pump is set down to V-type molding packing. This packing consists of a composition containing oxybenzoyl polyester and tetrafluoroethylene. This oxybenzoyl polyester is a kind of aromatic polyester. Therefore, abrasion resistance and self-lubricity of packing are well improvable.

きくなり寿命を短くしたり、また焼きつきによりポンプ
の停止をきたし、プラントの停止、更には災害を起こす
可能性を有している。特に高粘度あるいは接着性の液体
の場合には、従来のパツキンではシール部からの多量漏
れに至る寿命は約1週間以内であり、漏れが少なく、よ
り寿命の長いパツキンあるいはシール方法の開発が望ま
れていた。このような状況に鑑み、シール方法について
鋭意検討した結果、材質と形状を特定化したグランドパ
ツキンを用いることにより、本発明を完成するに至った

本発明に用いられるオキシベンゾイルポリエステル類は

等を共重合することにより得られる。これらのオキシベ
ンゾイルポリエステル類の製造法は特公昭46−679
6、特公昭47−47870、特開昭54−46287
等に示されており、またこれらのものはエコノール0(
住友化学工業製)という商品名で市販されている。本発
明で用いられるPTFEは一般に市販されている粉末が
用いられるが、平均粒径20μ未満の滑剤縁PTFE粉
末が好ましく、これらはテフロン@TLP−10(デュ
ポン社製)等の商品名で市販されている0本発明で用い
られるオキシベンゾイルポリエステル類とPTFEを含
有する組成物はPTFE100部に20〜30部のオキ
シベンゾイルポリエステル類を配合したものである。

の大きさ、組み込む数、液質等を考慮して適宜法められ
る。組み込む数、方向も液質圧力バランス等を考慮して
適宜選択される。第3図にスタフィンボックスに徂み込
んだ一例を示す。図中、2のパツキンリングが本発明の
エコノール@S製の■型成形パツキンである。

に用いた。いずれのポンプについても使用開始後6ケ月
経過しても漏れはほとんどなかった。
