PURPOSE:To efficiently produce rock wool with decreased heat energy by using a pan to be exclusively used of the capacity corresponding to the capacity of a rock wool producing device at the time of transferring molten slag from a blast furnace to a heating furnace of the rock wool producing device. CONSTITUTION:A large amt. of the molten slag discharged from the blast furnace is received by a large-sized ladle 1 and a part thereof is received into the pan 3 to be exclusively used which houses the molten slag of the amt. conforming to the production capacity of the rock wool producing device by the blast furnace slag and the capacity of the molten slag heating furnace 9 provided to said device. Such pan is imposed on a conveying carriage 4 and is conveyed to a rock wool producing plant where the pan is hoisted by an overhead crane 5 and is lowered onto a stand 6 having a tilting mechanism 7. The tilting device 7 is then driven to tilt the pan 3 and to pour the molten blast furnace slag therein into the heating furnace 9 through a receiving spout 8. The molten slag is heated and held to and at the temp. at which the production of the rock wool is not hindered in said furnace and thereafter, the slag is sent to the rock wool producing device. Since the blast furnace slag is conveyed in the molten state to the rock wool producing plate without once solidifying the same, the rock wool is produced by the use of the decreased heat energy.
