(従来の技術)
船外機は、第4図に一例を示すように、ドライブシャフ
トハウジング1の上部にエンジン2が搭載され、このエ
ンジン2からの排気系は同図に示すように排気流が層流
になるように極力滑らかな、かつ断面変化が少ない形状

合には海水中の塩分が固化して種々の弊害をもたらすと

伝わって流入する水を遮断し、流入水がエンジンに到達
することが阻止されてエンジンに悪影響を及ぼすことが

ジンの排気脈動により排気管路内の水が逆流入しても、
段部によりそれ以上上流方向へ流れることが阻止され、
これによりエンジンに水が侵入することが確実に防止さ
れてエンジンの耐久性を向上することができると同時に
エンジン性能を高めることができ、海水の場合には海水
中の塩分が固着することを防ぐことができるなどの種々
