Abstract

PURPOSE:To permit highly accurate transfer on a molding without occurrence of the wrinkles of a transfer film on moulding and also without shift of the position of the film by a method in which the transfer film is held on the joint face between made and female moulds and pressed into the cavity of the female mould by the projection of the male mould. CONSTITUTION:A cavity 2 is formed on the joint end face 1 of a female mould A in the face of a male mould B. When the mould A is moved toward the mould B, the end face 1 of the mould A collides with the joint end face 17 of a movable block 8 and a transfer film F is held. When the mould A is further moved to the right side, the block 8 is moved, the tip of the projection 9 of a fixed block 7 is projected through the hole 10 of the block 8 further to the left side, and the film F is pressed into the cavity 2 of the mould A while being pressed and extended for extrusion moulding. When a resin R is injected from a nozzle 16, the resin R injected is packed into a space 19 while pressing the film F on the inner surface of the cavity 2 of the mould A, and letters, etc., on the film F are transferred to the surface of the resin.

According to this device, a transfer film is sent and positioned between a fixed mold and a movable mold for each molding cycle, and the transfer film is sandwiched between the protrusions and recesses of the fixed mold and movable mold during the mold clamping operation. A film fixing device is provided for fixing the positioned transfer film at that position before being transferred.

(c) Problems to be solved by the invention This conventional device is configured to first clamp the transfer film to one mold and then join both molds together (clamp the molds). However, before the mold clamping is completed, when the convex part of the male die pushes the transfer film into the concave part of the female mold, wrinkles occur in the transfer film, and these wrinkles are gripped by the joined mold when the mold clamping is completed. If injection molding is performed as is, wrinkles may be formed in the film at the rising portions of the molded product.

(d) Structure and operation for solving the problem The present invention was proposed in view of the above-mentioned drawbacks. The projections of the male mold are projected into the corresponding recesses of the female mold, and at this time, the projections push the corresponding portions of the transfer film into the recesses to form the film, and then injection molding is performed.

After positioning the transfer film with respect to one of the molds (for example, the concave part of the female mold), the male and female molds are joined (clamped) without the convex part of the male mold protruding from the joint end surface, and the transfer is performed. After rejoining the film and fixing it between the end faces,
After pushing the transfer film, which is sandwiched with the convex part of the male die protruding from the bonding surface, into the concave part of the female die, injection molding and transfer are performed simultaneously.

A roll of transfer film F is supported by a roll of transfer film F, and the film F fed out from this roll passes through a guide roller 4 supported by a female die A and extends along the joint end surface 1 of the female die A across the concave portion 2. The film F after being transferred as described later passes through a guide roller 5 supported on the opposite side of the female mold A and is wound onto a roll 6. Although not shown, a known suitable device can be used to control the feeding of the transfer film F and the positioning of the female die A with respect to the recess 2.

The male mold B consists of two components: a fixed block 7 and a movable block 8. The fixed block 7 is fixed to the guide rod C, and the movable block 8 is arranged on the female die A side of the fixed block 7, and the movable block 8 is movable relative to the fixed block 7 by the guide rod C'2. 11 is a compression spring interposed between the fixed block 7 and the movable block 8; 12 is a support pin having one end fixed to the fixed block 7 and the other end slidably inserted into the corresponding hole 13 of the movable block 8; , the compression spring 11 is supported in a wound manner. Reference numeral 14 denotes a stopper provided on the fixed block 7, which defines the length by which the convex portion 9 of the fixed block 7 projects from the joint end surface 17 through the through hole 10 of the movable block 8, as will be described later. That is, when the movable block 8 of the male mold B is pushed toward the fixed block 7 by the female mold A against the compression spring 11 as will be described later, the convex portion 9 is inserted into the female mold from the through hole 10 of the movable block 8. The movable block 8 protrudes toward the recess 2 of A, but once the movable block 8 hits the stopper 14, the movable block 8
cannot approach the fixed block 7, and therefore, further protrusion of the convex portion 9 is restricted.

O is an O-ring buried as close as possible to the periphery of the through hole 10 in the male joint end surface 17, and a part of the peripheral surface slightly protrudes from the joint end surface 17. The O-ring is made of a material having appropriate elasticity and an appropriate coefficient of friction against the film F, and serves to prevent the film F from slipping during molding due to the protrusion of the male movable block 8 after mold clamping.

A new section of the transfer film F is placed in the female mold A without the end surface 18 of the movable block 8 protruding from the joining end surface 17 of the movable block 8.
After positioning the female mold A so that it faces the recess 2 (Fig. 1), move the female mold A toward the male mold B to the right in the figure. When the female mold A is further moved to the right in the figure, the movable block 8 of the male mold B moves to the right while holding the transfer film F between it and the female mold A and compressing the compression spring 11. I am forced to do it. As the movable block 8 moves to the right, the tip of the protrusion 9 of the fixed block 7 (the left end in the figure) protrudes to the left from the through hole 10 of the movable block 8, and presses and stretches the transfer film F. The movable block 8 is pressed into the recess 2 of the mold A (FIG. 3), and eventually comes into contact with the stopper 14 of the fixed block 7 and stops. In addition, in FIG. 3, for clarity of illustration, the film F is the convex portion 9 of the male mold B.

First, the male mold may be movable instead of the female mold, or both molds may be movable. It is also possible to configure the female concave portion and the male convex portion to be exchangeable with those having different shapes, and in this case, the length of the stopper 14 can also be configured to be variable. The resin injection nozzle can also be made to open on the inner surface of the female mold recess. In this case, if the transfer surface of the transfer film is turned opposite to the illustrated example (to face the recess of the female mold), the transfer will be performed on the concave surface of the molded product. It is also possible to provide a mechanism for softening the transfer film with hot air before it is held between the molds.

(F) Effect As described above, according to the present invention, after the transfer film is sandwiched between the joint surfaces of the male mold and the female mold, the sandwiched film is pushed into the recess of the female mold by the convex part of the male mold. This eliminates the inconvenience of injection molding being performed with both molds holding the wrinkles of the transfer film in their mouths, especially when the shape of the molded product has a rise, and wrinkles of the film appearing on the molded product. High-precision transfer is possible with only the wrong position.
