(Prior Art and Problems) It may be necessary to connect and disconnect signal lines between devices during operation. This is particularly necessary for devices that require constant availability. However, when signal lines are connected between devices in operation, electrical breakdown of elements may occur at the interface portion. One of the reasons for this is thought to be that there is a large ground level difference between the two devices, and if the signal line is connected before the ground line, a high voltage is applied to the signal line.

Conventionally, connection of signal lines between devices during operation was not guaranteed. Therefore, when connecting signal lines between devices, it is necessary to temporarily stop the power to both devices, connect the signal lines, and then restart the devices. Therefore, in information transmission devices and the like that are required to operate constantly, it is not possible to connect external equipment such as a typewriter while the device is in operation, which poses a problem in terms of operability.

(Structure of the Invention) When connecting signal lines between devices during operation, the interface protection circuit of the present invention first connects the ground wire between the devices, and ensures that the ground wires are connected to the ground potential of both devices. After detecting that the signals become the same, the signal lines are connected using relay contacts, thereby preventing electrical damage to the elements of the interface section.

In FIG. 1, a ground connection detection circuit 1 outputs a detection signal to a delay circuit 2 when detecting a ground connection with an external device. The delay circuit 2 is
After a certain period of time after receiving the detection signal, the built-in relay is driven to close contacts 3 and 4. The reason for delaying the operation in the delay circuit 2 in this manner is to ensure that the ground is reliably connected, taking into consideration the occurrence of chattering when detecting the ground connection.

When the contact 3 is closed, the lamp 5 lights up to indicate to the outside that the earth is connected.
Also, when the contact 4 closes, the relay 6 is driven, and the contact 7 closes to connect the signal line 8 inside the device and the signal line 8A connected to the external device, thereby connecting the device. The signal line is connected.

FIG. 2 shows an example of the configuration of the ground connection detection circuit shown in FIG. In the same figure, 8B is a signal line, 9 is a relay, 10 is a contact of relay 9, and 11
are connection parts of connectors between devices, 12 to 16
17 is a connector contact for detecting ground connection on the device side, 18 to 22 is a connector contact for detecting ground connection on the external device side, 23 is a connector contact for ground connection on the external device side, 24 and 25 are connector contacts for signal line connection on the device side, 26 and 2
7 is a connector contact for connecting a signal line on the external device side. Note that the contacts 24, 25 and 26, 27
shows the case of two signal lines, but the number of signal lines may be arbitrary. In this case, the connector contacts on both sides and the contacts of the relay 7 that connects the signal lines should be provided in accordance with the number of signal lines. It will be done.

Now, when the connector connection part 11 is connected to connect the device side and the external device side, when all the connector contacts 12 to 16, 18 to 22 for earth connection detection are connected, that is, contact 12 - contact 18,
When contacts 19-contacts 13, contacts 14-contacts 20, contacts 21-contacts 15, and contacts 16-contacts 22 are all connected, relay 9 is driven and contact 1
0 is closed, thereby sending a detection signal to the delay circuit 2. Contacts 12-15 and 18-21
have contacts 16 and 2 at the four corners of the connector, respectively.
2 is assigned to the center part of the connector,
When all these contacts are connected as described above, the connector is considered to be securely connected, and this ensures the connection between contacts 17 and 23 for ground connection provided in the same connector. .
At the same time, signal lines are connected through connections between contacts 24 and 26 and between contacts 25 and 27 provided in the same connector. Since the contacts 24 and 25 are connected to the signal line 8A on the device side, and the contacts 26 and 27 are connected to the signal line 8B on the external device side, the contact 7 is connected by the operation of the relay 6 shown in FIG. When closed, the signal line 8 inside the device connects to the signal line 8B of the external device.
However, at this time, contacts 17 and 23 are already connected.
Since the ground wire between both devices is connected through the device, electrical breakdown of elements in the interface section will not occur due to a difference in ground level between the two devices. In the earth connection detection circuit shown in FIG. 2, the connection parts for operating the earth connection detection relay are scattered at various locations on the connector, so that the earth connection can be detected reliably. It goes without saying that the signal line may not be accommodated in the connector connection portion 11 and may be connected separately.
