Prior art and its problems Conventionally, flexible supports such as cables that supply energy to moving parts in machine tools, etc., have hollow inner frames and surrounding pieces alternately arranged between the fixed end and the moving end. 1) There is a pipe in which cables and the like are housed in a tube that can be bent within a certain range and supported and guided. This is made by arranging two inner frames having grooves of a constant width at equal intervals, and connecting them into a single piece by spanning an enclosing piece having flanges at both ends that fit into the grooves.

However, the former flexible support such as a cable can be bent horizontally (or vertically) in a plane, but cannot accommodate movement in any direction. That is, although it can be used for moving objects that move in a straight line, it cannot be used for objects that move freely, such as robots.

On the other hand, when looking at devices that move in three dimensions, those that move eastward have problems with their appearance, and it is difficult to protect the wiring. Also, the method using bellows has many problems, such as not being able to cut and connect, not having a fixed radius, and not being strong enough to support cables, etc.

EXAMPLE Based on FIGS. 6 and 7, the basic structure and operation of the flexible support 5, such as a cable, to which the present invention can be applied will be explained.

The link 6 has an offset shape and has a small diameter protrusion 12 having an inner surface with a concave spherical surface 10 on one cylindrical large diameter portion 9 and an outer surface with a convex spherical surface 1) on the other side, and has a smaller diameter than each of the above spherical surfaces in the elongated direction. A cylindrical hole 13 is provided. Each link is inserted into and engaged with an adjacent link with a concave-convex spherical surface. When the flexible support body 5 is bent, the adjacent concave and convex spherical surfaces of each link are loosely interlocked with each other, so that each link smoothly slides on each other and rotates by θ degrees. When they are rotated by θ degrees, they come into contact with the contact point 14 on the outer diameter portion or the contact point on the inner diameter portion, or both or either one of them, and the stomper mechanism acts. Further, the inner surface of the link 6 is finished smoothly so as not to damage the cables, hoses, etc. 4, and the corners are chamfered. When each link 6 rotates by θ degrees as the flexible body moves, the adjacent links 6 sequentially rotate to form a constant bending radius. Furthermore, since each link 6 can rotate by θ degrees in any direction on the spherical surface, it can be bent three-dimensionally while maintaining a constant bending radius.

In addition, when connecting the link 6, the concave spherical part should be heated to 70℃~1
This can easily be done by immersing it in hot water at 00°C to expand it locally, and then inserting the convex spherical part on the other side.

Next, an example of the seal structure according to the present invention will be described.
Figure 1 shows a concave spherical surface 10 and a convex spherical surface 1), in which a groove 1)' is provided on the convex spherical surface, and an annular seal (O-ring) 1G is formed therein.

The one in FIG. 2 has the same structure as in FIG. 1, but in order to prevent the annular seal 16 from coming off the spherical surface when the link 6 is bent, there are protrusions 1) a, llb on both sides of the annular seal. It has a structure with

In addition, the projecting ridges can be expected to have a waterproofing effect against most of the water that tries to enter.

Next, in the one of FIG. 4, a flexible annular seal 18 or 1

If this seal is made to be in a compressed state in the assembled state, a sufficient sealing effect can be achieved as long as the degree of bending of the link is small.

Finally, the one in Fig. 5 does not use a seal, and the annular protrusion 1) c and lid are provided on the convex spherical surface 1) and are set in a tight fit with the concave spherical surface 10 to reduce the contact area of the concave and convex spherical surfaces and bend. It has a waterproof structure while ensuring smooth movement.

Effects of the Invention Since the present invention is constructed as described above, cutting water, water, oil, etc. from the outside do not enter while maintaining the ability of the flexible support to be bent three-dimensionally in the designated direction. A seal structure can be realized, the structure is dust-proof, and the appearance is good.
