Abstract

PURPOSE:To restore the state into the original normal state in a short time by allowing a storage means to manage the storage location of an optical disk even when power is interrupted while the optical disk is carried. CONSTITUTION:A storage section 8 connected to a control section 9 stores an address of a storage box where an optical disk 3 under carrying is stored, a power is supplied to the storage section 8 from a battery 7 and the recording content is stored even when the supply of an external power of the device is interrupted. Suppose that the power supply from the external power supply 11 is interrupted while the optical disk 3 is being carried, since the function of the control section 9 is stopped, the management of the optical disk is disabled. When the power supply of the device is applied again, the control section 9 references the content of the storage section 8, starts the drive circuit section 6, the optical disk 3 is restored to the original address location by a carrier mechanism 4 and the state is restored to the normal state before the power supply is interrupted.

As an example of a conventional device of this kind, for example,
It is described in Japanese Patent No. 1-45973. This mainly concerns the transport and storage method of recording media, and all management of recording media is done by the host device to which the device is connected.

If the power is cut off while the optical disk is being removed from storage and being transported, the power supply to the control unit is stopped, and the management of the optical disk is stopped. The storage location of the optical disk being transported becomes unknown. Put it away. If you return the optical disc to another storage location, even if a search request for data recorded on this optical disc comes next, the storage location will not be known, so all stored discs will be returned to the drive unit in order. It is necessary to load the optical disc into the disc and search for the desired optical disc to read the data, which takes a long time to search for data, leading to a decline in the functionality of the equipment. The present invention manages optical disks even when the power is turned off,
After the power is turned on again, the device returns to a state where it can function normally in a short period of time. For this purpose, management information of the optical disk is stored in a backup storage means, and a recovery operation is performed based on this information.

An embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to FIG. The automatic optical disk loading device 1 includes a storage 2 having an address 21, and stores optical disks 3 at each address. The transport mechanism section 4 has a function of transporting the optical disc 3 between the drive device 5 and the storage 2, and also has a function of reversing the optical disc 3 from front to back.

When data to be processed is designated by a command from the host device 10, the control unit 9 decodes the command and activates the drive circuit unit 6. The drive circuit section 6 controls the transport mechanism section 4 to select the optical disk 3, transport it, load it into the drive device, and reverse the surface of the optical disk 3. At this time, the storage unit 8 connected to the control unit 9 stores the address of the storage where the optical disc 3 being transported is stored. If there are a plurality of drive devices 5 into which the optical disk 3 is loaded, the address of the drive device into which the optical disk is currently loaded is also stored. This storage section 8 is supplied with power by a storage battery 7, and can retain recorded contents even if the supply of external power to the device is cut off.

Therefore, if the power supply from the external power supply 11 is cut off while the optical disc 3 is being transported, the control section 9 will stop functioning, and the optical disc will no longer be managed. However, storage section 8
Since the storage battery 7 holds the address information of the optical disk 3 in the W However, the optical disk 3 can be returned to the original address position by the transport mechanism 4, and the normal state before the power was cut off can be restored.

According to the present invention, even if the power is cut off while the optical disk is being transported, the storage location of the optical disk is managed by the storage means, so even after an abnormality such as a power outage occurs, the storage means can be referenced by turning the power back on. This allows the af to return to its original normal state in a short time.
