Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent an image forming device from being large-sized and simplify replacement and maintenance of an image carrier by providing the image carrier and at least one developing device in one frame body which is provided freely attachably to and detachably from the image forming device body. CONSTITUTION:When a cam 30 is rotated in the direction of an arrow by a driving mechanism, the cam 30 presses a pressuring spring 32, and a color developing device 13 approaches a photosensitive drum 11 against a return spring 34. A rack 13b is moved to rotate a gear 37 counterclockwise, and a rack 14a is moved right, and a black developing device 14 is separated from the photosensitive drum 11; and when the cam 30 is rotated at 180 deg., the color developing device 13 is set in the development position to perform development. When the cam 30 is rotated in the opposite direction at 180 deg., developing devices 13 and 14 are returned to original positions. When stopper members of upper and lower units 52 and 51 are opened in case of replacement of the photosensitive drum 11, an upper unit where the photosensitive drum 11, developing devices 13 and 14, etc., are arranged is opened in the direction of an arrow by a spring mechanism, and the photosensitive drum 11 is detached together with an electrifier 12, a cleaning device 16, and a black developing device 14 as one body.

Alternatively, there is a method in which the device is equipped with multiple developing devices and these developing devices are selected and used, but recently, with the development of 1/1 moving double-sided, multi-Φ copying shade mechanisms, the latter method has become more popular. Most of the copying devices are equipped with two or more developing devices containing toner of different colors in the main body of the copying device, and the cylinder is designed to make it possible to copy different colors by simply pressing a button inside the cylinder at the operation section f'+. The mold is constructed so that multicolor copies can be made on a single sheet of copy paper.

An example of a conventional multiplex device of this type is illustrated in FIG. In this example, original glass 1! - Manuscript 2 placed in
is reduced to 1 by the lamp 3, and the light image is transferred to an image carrier, that is, an electrophotographic photosensitive tram 11 in this example, by an optical system composed of reflecting mirrors 4 to 9 and a lens 10.
It leads to 1-. The lamp 3 and the mirror 4.5.6 scan the original 2 at a predetermined speed of 1 in the direction of the arrow. On the other hand, as the optical drum 11 rotates in the direction of the arrow, the surface of the optical drum 11 is uniformly charged by the charger 12, and then a light image is irradiated on the surface of the photosensitive drum, so that static images corresponding to the original image are sequentially formed on the surface of the photosensitive drum. An electric image is formed.

Around the photosensitive drum 11, a color developer 13 containing red, +';T' color toners and a black developer 14 containing black toner are arranged. These developing units 13 and 14 are movable in the direction of the arrow 5, that is, between a developing operating position close to the photosensitive drum and a developing non-operating position spaced apart from the photosensitive drum. In response, it approaches the photosensitive drum 11 and develops the still image on the photosensitive drum 111-. In FIG. 5, the color developer 13 is far away and the black developer 14 is close, so a black image is formed on the photosensitive drum 11.

The black image on the photosensitive drum 11.11 is transferred to the transfer paper 17 by the transfer charger 15, and then the photosensitive drum 11 reaches the cleaning device 16 to remove the residual toner on the surface and move on to the next step F. The transfer paper 17 is stored in a cassette 18, and only one sheet is sent out by a paper feed roller 19. This transfer paper 17 is guided along guides 21, 22 to a pair of registration rollers 20.

The registration roller pair 20 starts rotating at the timing when the developed image on the photosensitive drum 11 and the transfer paper 17 coincide, and transfers the image onto the transfer paper 17 via the guide 23 and the lower transfer guide 24.
is sent to the surface of the photosensitive tram 11. Then, as described above, the transfer paper 17 is transferred to the photosensitive drum 11 by the transfer band overlapping device 15.
After the toner image has been transferred, it is separated from the surface of the photosensitive drum 11 by a separation band 25, and then transferred to a fixed position 1 by a conveyance section 26.
4 to 1 vessel 27. The toner image on the transfer paper 171 is fixed 71 as a permanent image in the fixing device 27, and is discharged to the second paper tray 1- by a pair of paper discharge rollers 28. Also, the copying machine is located at 9.

The color developing device 13 is installed in the lower unit 52, and the four color developing device 13 has a cam 30, a pressure spring 32. The return spring 34 allows the photosensitive drum 11 to be moved toward and away from the photosensitive drum 11 using a conventionally known method. Furthermore, as illustrated in FIG. A rail 13a having a rack 13b at one end is integrally attached to the a-color developing device 13, and the rack 13b meshes with a gear 37 rotatably supported by a frame 40, which will be described later. The engagement between the rack 13b and the gear 37 allows the color developing device 13 to be brought close to or separated from the photosensitive drum 11.

The cam 30 moves in the direction away from the photosensitive tram 11.
When the color developer 13 rotates 180', the color developer 13 comes close to the photosensitive drum 11 and is set at the developing operation position. In other words, it becomes possible to develop images using the color toners in the color developing device 13.

Furthermore, according to the present invention, in the state shown in FIG. 2, the user moves the color developing device 13 to the location 9! The IIr iF is replaced with a color developing device containing toner of another color, and the replacement is performed as follows. That is, since the color developing device 13 is placed on the shelves 13a to 13h, it is necessary to slide the color developing device 13 one step forward in FIG. 2 and pull it out of the 1-unit 52. , and instead install another desired color developer on the rail 13a.
It is sufficient to place the developing device on the photosensitive drum 11 and push it to the back side. Since the developing device is separated from the photosensitive drum 11, the surface of the photosensitive drum 11 will not be damaged.
