Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the detection sensitivity of a density variation by recording the density of a density mark which is formed on a photosensitive body by a lower density than an image density of an image recording area. CONSTITUTION:A laser beam for scanning a density mark area 5, among scanning laser beams is reflected by a polygon mirror 2, and thereafter, set to an exposure quantity by which a density mark goes to a density area in which the detection sensitivity of a density variation is improved, by an optical filter 6 for absorbing the laser beam in a prescribed ratio, and projected to a rotary photosensitive drum 3. Accordingly, a latent image of the density mark is formed by an exposure quantity being weaker than a necessary image, and the density mark which is developed by a developer by using a developing device 7 is deviated to a lower density than a necessary image. As for the detection sensitivity of a sensor for detecting a density variation, it is higher in a low density area, therefore, a control input becomes larger and the density can be controlled exactly.

[Detailed Description of the Invention] [Summary] An electrostatic image recording device in which a density mark is formed together with an image on a photoconductor, and the density of the density mark is measured to control /73 degrees of the desired image. In this method, the detection sensitivity of density changes is improved by providing a means for recording the density mark by shifting it to a lower density region than the density of the desired image.

Electrostatic image recording devices are used, for example, in electrostatic copying machines, laser printers, etc. In order to control the printing density, electrostatic image recording devices record density marks together with the required images, and measure the density of the density marks to record the density marks. Image density is controlled so that the value becomes a predetermined value.

That is, as shown in FIG. 3, the relationship between the incident light amount and the output voltage of the density sensor is non-linear, and the low light amount value 1.1 for the same light amount change ΔI. Between the output voltage change ΔE1 at the high light intensity value ■2 and the output voltage change ΔE2 at the high light intensity value ■2, ΔE1 is smaller than ΔE, so the sensitivity of the density measurement sensor to the density change of the high density mark becomes less , it becomes difficult to control print density.

This embodiment is applied to a laser printer, in which a laser beam modulated according to a written image enters a polygon mirror 2 rotating at high speed from a light source 1.
, and scans the rotating photosensitive drum 3. An image area 4 and a density mark area 5 are formed on the rotating photosensitive drum 3, and the scanning laser beam writes an image and a density mark in each area. The image thus formed on the rotating photosensitive drum 3 and the electrostatic latent image of the density mark are developed with a developer by a developing device 7, and the density of the density mark is detected by a density sensor 8. The density information of the density mark is inputted to the density control device 9 as the output of the density sensor 8, and the density control device 9 controls the image density in the developing unit so that the image density becomes a preset appropriate density according to the density information of the density mark. control the toner density.

Among the scanning laser beams, the laser beam that scans the density mark area 5 is reflected by the polygon mirror 2, and then filtered by an optical filter 6 that absorbs the laser beam at a constant rate. The light is projected onto the rotating photosensitive drum 3 with an exposure amount such that the area becomes a certain area.

FIG. 2 shows an embodiment to which this means is applied, in which toner in a developing device of an electrostatic image recording device is transferred to a rotating photosensitive drum.
The density mark shown in FIG. 2B is applied so that the part of the magnetic brush 11 that faces the density mark area 5 for adhering to the upper electrostatic latent image is shorter than the part of the brush that faces the image area 4. The ear cutting blade 10 is used in which the blade 5' facing the area 5 is longer than the blade 4' facing the image area. As a result, the distance between the surface of the density mark area 5 on the rotating photosensitive drum 3 and the tip of the magnetic brush is
The amount of toner adhering to the latent image of the density mark decreases, and the density mark is recorded at a lower density than the desired image.
