Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable blurred print to be eliminated and trouble such as missing dots before printing to be discovered by detecting a printing pressure caused by a dot pin of a dot impact printing head. CONSTITUTION:Before starting a printing action, a printing head 1 moves to the position of a printing pressure detection mechanism 4, protruding a dot pin to apply a pressure. A printing output detection mechanism 4 supplies an electric signal compatible with a printing pressure to a printing pressure control circuit. The printing pressure control circuit amplifies a printing pressure signal with the help of an amplifier 6, inputting the signal to CPU 8 through an A/D converter 7. CPU 8 processes printing pressure data appearing in a printing pressure signal, and displays an alarm, if a printing pressure does not reach a prescribed value, for instance, when a display means is provided.
