According to the conventional light pen device as described above, the light emitting and light receiving elements 5 and 6 are arranged approximately at right angles to the longitudinal direction of the light pen.
It has been difficult to reduce the outer diameter of the light pen unless the light receiving element is made very small. In addition, in order to avoid moving the light receiving element 1 that receives optical information or damaging its output line, the light receiving element 1 is positioned after the switch mechanism, and the fiber 15

In the above configuration, the light pen body 11
is pushed in the direction of arrow A and the tip of the switch sliding member 3 comes into contact with the transparent plate 13, and as the light pen body 11 moves in the direction of arrow A thereafter, the switch sliding member 3 moves in the direction of arrow A. It is in a state where it is pushed in the opposite direction, and due to this movement of the sliding member 3,
As shown in FIG. 4, the switch plate 4 which has been open until now is pushed in by the switch sliding member 3, and the opening portion of the switch plate 4 is displaced in the direction of closing, and at a certain point as shown in FIG. It becomes closed.
In this example, the switch plates 4 are constructed of a pair of left and right switch plates, but only one switch plate may be used.

The light emitting element 5 always emits light toward the light receiving element 6, and when the switch plate 4 is open, the light receiving element 6 receives the light from the light emitting element 5 and is in an on state. Further, when the switch plate 4 closes in response to the movement of the sliding member 3, the light emitted from the light emitting element 5 is blocked by the closed switch plate 4 and does not reach the light receiving element 6, so the light receiving element 6 is turned off. become a state. As described above, the light receiving element 6 is repeatedly turned on and off each time the switch plate 4 is opened and closed.

When the light pen body 11 is moved in the direction opposite to the arrow A and released from the transparent plate 13, the switch sliding member 3 which had been pushed in is pushed out by the return force of the return spring 9 and returns to the state shown in FIG. 3. .

As described above, according to the present invention, the movement of the sliding member is optically detected when the pen is pressed, and the signal light is detected by the light receiving element. In a light pen device comprising a photoelectric switch consisting of light emitting and light receiving elements, the light emitting element and light receiving element for the switch are arranged side by side in the longitudinal direction of the device.
It becomes possible to reduce the outer diameter of the light pen device, and as a result, the operability of the light pen is improved and the design is also improved. Further, since there is no need to use expensive parts such as fibers and the structure is simple, assembly is easy and difficult adjustments are not required. Therefore, it has various advantages such as being able to provide a light pen device at low cost. Furthermore, according to the present invention, opening and closing of the optical path between the light emitting and light receiving elements of the photoelectric switch is performed by a switch plate, and the switch plate is provided at a position protruding from the end of the sliding member. Before the sliding member moves, the sliding member is in a state where it is opened wider outward from the end opening of the sliding member, and when the sliding member is moved, the member is pushed into a surrounding part that surrounds the sliding member and becomes a closed state. Therefore, the structure is simple and manufacturing is easy.
