Abstract

PURPOSE:To position a drum surface at a focusing point of lens array all the time by holding an integrally formed arrayed light source and lens array in movable form and providing a limiting roller to cause said roller to contact with the surface of a photosensitive element drum. CONSTITUTION:A lens array 3 with focusing light transmission elements arranged monodimensionally like a self-focusing lens is installed with clamping metals 9, 10 in such a way that each light emitting element of an arrayed light source 2 is located at the focusing point of the lens array 3. Each optical element of the arrayed light source 2 lights up to an image and an image is formed and exposed to light on the surface of a photosensitive element drum 1 by the lens array 3. At that time, the arrayed light source 2 and lens array 3 follow along the external circumference of the photosensitive element drum 1 by means of a limiting roller 17 in contact with the external circumference of the photosensitive element drum 1, so that the lens array 3 is always kept at constant distance from the surface of the photosensitive element drum 1 and subsequently, the image is optically exposed without any shift from the focusing point. The exposed portion of the photosensitive element drum 1 is discharged, thus forming a static latent image depending on the existence of an electric charge and visualizing the image with a toner in a following development block 5.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, an electrophotographic recording apparatus using an arrayed light source and a lens array has a structure as shown in FIG. 2, as shown in, for example, Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 52-34739. That is, an array light source 2 is provided near the outer peripheral surface of the photoreceptor drum 1.0.
A lens array 3 is arranged so that its scanning direction is parallel to the axial direction of the photoreceptor drum 1, and the array light source 2 and the surface of the photoreceptor drum 1 face each other at the focal position of the lens array 3. Fixed. The photosensitive drum 1, whose surface is uniformly charged by the charger 4, is exposed to a desired pattern image by the array light source 2, toner is attached to it by the developer 5, and then onto a recording paper 7 by the transfer charger 6. The toner image is transferred, the recording paper 7 is heated and fixed by a fixing device 8, and then discharged to the outside of the apparatus. The surface of the photosensitive drum 1 to which the toner image has been transferred is cleaned by a cleaning section 9, and after electricity is removed by a static eliminating section 10, the photosensitive drum 1 returns to its initial state.

Problems to be Solved by the Invention However, in such a structure, since the focal length of the lens array 3 is generally short, the positional accuracy of the play-shaped light source 2, the lens array 3, and the surface of the photoreceptor drum 1 is poor. This is important, and in particular, changes in the optical path length due to eccentricity of the photosensitive drum 1 adversely affect the resolution of recorded images.

Means for solving the problems and technical means of the present invention for solving the above problems are as follows:
An array light source and a lens array are integrally held, a regulating roller is provided, the regulating roller is in contact with the surface of a photoreceptor drum, and the array light source and lens array are movably provided along the drum surface. It is.

In other words, even if the photoreceptor drum is eccentric or the diameter changes due to replacement of the photoreceptor drum, the array light source and lens array move in response to changes in the photoreceptor drum surface, and the focal position of the lens array is always maintained. Since the drum surface is located at the top of the drum, the image will not be out of focus and a high-quality image can be obtained.

The photosensitive drum 1 is rotated by a drive motor in the direction of arrow A, and the surface of the photosensitive drum 1 is first uniformly charged by a charging device 4 (FIG. 2). Next, each optical element of the play-shaped light source 2 is turned on for a desired image, and the surface of the photoreceptor drum 1 is imaged and exposed by the lens array 3. At this time, photoreceptor drum 1. The array light source 2 and the lens array 3 are controlled by the regulating roller 17 that is in contact with the outer periphery of the photoreceptor drum 1.
The distance between the lens array 3 and the surface of the photosensitive drum 1 is always kept constant, and the image is exposed without being out of focus. The exposed portion of the photoreceptor drum 1 loses charge, and an electrostatic latent image is formed depending on the presence or absence of charge.
In the next developing section 6 (FIG. 2), toner is applied and visualized.
