Abstract

PURPOSE:To simply form a cut-off portion for discharging air or water between the inner and outer layer tubes by cutting the crest portion of an outer layer tube to provide a cut-off portion for partially exposing an inner layer tube. CONSTITUTION: Bellows is formed by fitting to each other two stainless steel plate tubes 10, 11 having large and small diameters and stacking same in layers. A plurality of crest portions 12 and valley portions 13 are formed at fixed intervals on the axis portion, and these crest portions 12 and valley portion 13 from the bellows portion in such a manner as to have flexibility. The top of the crest portion 12 is provided with a cut-off portion 14 formed by cutting the outer tube 10 to expose the inner layer tube 11. Though preferably, the cut-off portion 14 is disposed in such a manner as to completely expose a part of the inner tube 11, it may have no trouble in leaving the outer layer tube 10 a little like a thin layer.

Conventional technology In general, this type of exhaust pipe bellows (see Fig. 4) is
o. Two tubes 1 and 2 made of stainless steel plates of about 2 to 0.4 mm and having different diameters are fitted and inserted, stacked on top of each other, and bulged from the inside to the outside to form the peak part 3.
, a plurality of troughs 4 are formed at predetermined intervals. When this bellows is used at a high temperature of about 600 to 800 degrees Celsius, the air, moisture, etc. remaining between the two-layer tubes 1 and 2 expands and a part of the bellows deforms, creating a void 5. (See FIG. 5), the flexibility which is the function of the bellows will be lost. Therefore, the air remaining between the two layers must be discharged from between each tube 1.2 after the bellows is formed or during use.

Problems to be Solved by the Invention However, removing only a portion of the outer layer 1 with this cass burner requires extremely strict operational control and skilled technique, and even then, the through hole 6 that reaches the inner layer tube 2 is difficult to remove. (See 6th UA) This results in the production of defective products that cause exhaust gas leakage, and the performance of the bellows deteriorates due to excessive heating.

A cutout part 14 is provided at the top of the mountain part 12 by cutting the outer layer tube 10 to expose the inner layer side tube 11. The cutouts 14 can be formed at desired intervals, and for example, they can be provided every two devices. Further, it is desirable that the cutout part 14 be provided so that a part of the inner layer tube 11 is completely exposed, but it is also acceptable if the outer layer tube 10 is left in a thin shape.

In order to provide this cutout 14, a cutting tool (Fig. 2a,
b) can be used. This cutting tool is a clamp 21tl that clamps the bellows on the stationary table 20 at the circumference.
- A plurality of cutting blades 22.2 are provided, and the plurality of cutting blades 22 .
It is configured with 2... The clamp 21 is attached to the slide base 24 so that the receiving jaw 21a on one side can slide horizontally on the drive cylinder 23.
This allows the bellows to be positioned in the axial direction and clamped securely. Further, the cutting blades 22, 22... are mounted on the holder 26 with each cutting edge protruding in the horizontal direction,
Furthermore, the blades are installed so that the amount of protrusion of the cutting edge gradually increases upward. The holder 26 is the drive cylinder 2
7, it is mounted so that it can move up and down, and has multiple cutting blades 22, 22,
. . . are slid into predetermined peaks of the bellows in order from the lowest to the highest.

When using this cutting tool, the bellows is held by the clamp 21, and the cutting blade 22, 22, which moves up and down in a fixed position.
Because it is cut by..., the tube 10 on the outer layer side is accurately cut.
The inner layer tube 11 can now be exposed by partially cutting out only the inner layer side tube 11.

Effects of the Invention As described above, according to the manufacturing method of the bellows for an exhaust pipe according to the present invention, the cutting portion for discharging air, moisture, etc. from between the inner and outer layer tubes can be easily and accurately formed, resulting in improved walking efficiency. Furthermore, since there is no possibility of partial plastic deformation due to heating or the like, flexibility can be maintained well for a long period of time.
