In general, so-called composite electrical contact materials made by laminating precious metals and base metals are widely used to improve weldability and economical efficiency, but depending on the application, materials such as those shown in Figure 1 A and B are widely used. Precious metal or noble metal having a substantially uniform thickness on the outer circumferential surface of base material 1a, 1a' made of base metal and having a semicircular or trapezoidal cross section as shown in FIG. There is a need for composite electrical contact materials 1, 1' having contact materials 1c, 1c' made of alloys.

However, such composite electrical contact materials 1, 1'
Since it has not been possible to manufacture conventionally, it was unavoidable to create a composite electrical contact in which the upper surface of the base material 2a made of a base metal and having a semicircular cross section could not be completely covered with the contact material 2c made of a precious metal, as shown in FIG. 2A. material 2 or a base material 2 made of base metal with a trapezoidal cross section as shown in Figure 2B
A composite electrical contact material 2' has been used in which the entire circumferential surface of a' is covered with a contact material 2c' made of a noble metal.

By the way, in the composite electrical contact material 2 shown in FIG. 2A, the base material 2a is made of Cu-Ni alloy, Fe-Ni alloy, etc.
When alloys or the like are used, various problems arise, such as poor corrosion resistance and reduced contact performance.
In addition, in the composite electrical contact material 2' shown in FIG. 2B, the entire circumferential surface of the base material 2a' is covered with the contact material 2c' made of precious metal, so that the precious metal on the joint surface 2b' with the terminal plate etc. This was wasted and uneconomical, and the bonding strength with the terminal board was insufficient.

As shown in FIGS. 3A and 3B, the method for manufacturing a composite electrical contact material according to the present invention is as follows. The center part of the tape-shaped contact material 3c or 3c' made of noble metal or noble metal alloy is joined to the upper surface 3d' by resistance welding or hot pressure welding, and then a linear base material as shown in FIGS. 4A and B is attached. 3
The tape-shaped contact material 3c or 3c' is connected to the linear base material 3a, 3a by a pair of upper and lower electrodes 4, 4' or rolls 5, 5' having grooves 4a, 5a having substantially the same cross-sectional shape as the cross-sectional shapes of the tapes 3a, 3a'. ’ joint surfaces 3b, 3 with terminal boards etc.

In the method for manufacturing a composite electrical contact material of the present invention,
To join a tape-shaped contact material made of a noble metal or a noble metal alloy to the apex or upper surface of a linear base material made of a base metal or a base metal alloy in advance, position the tape-shaped contact material so that it does not shift to one side. This is to ensure proper bonding to the base material.

As can be seen from the above explanation, according to the method for manufacturing a composite electrical contact material of the present invention, it has not been possible to bond and coat the contact material made of a noble metal on the outer circumferential surface of the base material made of a base metal except for the joint surface with the terminal board. This solves the technical problem, eliminates the economic waste of covering the joint surface with the terminal board with a contact material made of precious metal, and also improves the strength of the joint with the terminal board. Or, an excellent effect that it is possible to easily manufacture a composite electrical contact material having a contact material made of a noble metal or a noble metal alloy having a substantially uniform thickness on the outer peripheral surface of a linear base material made of a base metal alloy, excluding the joint surface with the terminal plate. There is.
