In an electrophotographic device using a wet development transfer method, as a means to eliminate residual toner after transfer, a developer is supplied from a developing section to a cleaning section, and the residual toner is dissolved and removed by this solution. It is being done.

However, when the blade cleaning method is used, for example, when the developer that is scraped off by the blade runs down the drum or wraps around the back of the blade, it eventually dries.
The toner left behind will scatter and contaminate the transfer paper and the device, and the developer left behind after being scraped up when the device is stopped will cause the toner to be deposited on the photoreceptor as the solvent evaporates. This caused coagulation, which caused damage to the photoreceptor and blade.

The present invention aims to eliminate the above-mentioned drawbacks by supplying a developer from which toner has been removed as much as possible to a cleaning section.

In FIG. 1, 1 is a photoconductor, 2 is a liquid developer tank, and 3 is a pump driven by a motor 7, which supplies a portion of the developer to a cleaning section on the surface of the photoconductor and a developing electrode 5. It is. Reference numeral 4 denotes a mesh-shaped electrode to which a voltage of the same polarity as the toner is applied, and is provided at a discharge portion of the pump 3 to the cleaning liquid supply pipe 6.

Next, to explain this effect, the mesh-shaped electrode 4 provided at the inlet of the cleaning liquid supply pipe 6
As described above, since a voltage having the same polarity as the toner is applied to the toner, the toner in the developer discharged from the pump 3 toward the supply pipe 6 is repelled here and is prevented from passing through. . Therefore, almost all the liquid flowing into the supply pipe 6 is the solvent, and in the cleaning section, the residual toner is dissolved and removed only by this solvent. On the other hand, the supply pipe 6
The toner that is blocked from flowing into the pump 3 is concentrated in the pump 3, becomes a more concentrated developer, and is transferred to the developing electrode 5.
The latent image on the photoreceptor 1 is visualized.

In the embodiment shown in FIG. 2, a mesh-like electrode 4 is provided in the developing tank 2, and a pump 3a for supplying liquid to the cleaning section is connected to one tank 2a with the electrode 4 in between, and a pump 3a for supplying liquid to the cleaning section is connected to the other tank 2a. 2b is provided with a pump 3b for supplying liquid to the developing electrode. Furthermore, a liquid supply pipe 8 communicating with the developing electrode 5 via an electromagnetic valve 9 is provided at another discharge port of the liquid supply pump 3a to the cleaning section.

According to this embodiment, the developer flows into the tank 2a from the tank 2b due to the operation of the liquid supply pump 3a to the cleaning section, but as described above, there is no toner between the two tanks. Since there is a mesh electrode 4 to which a voltage of the same polarity is applied, the toner in the developer is blocked by this electrode 4, and only the solvent flows into the tank 2a. Therefore, as the liquid continues to be supplied to the cleaning section, the toner concentration of the developer decreases until it becomes only a solvent. On the other hand, since the mesh-like electrode 4 increases the toner concentration of the developer in the tank 2b, the pump 3b sends a high-concentration developer to the developing electrode 5, thereby ensuring more reliable development. Also, a liquid supply pipe 8 connected to another discharge port of the liquid supply pump 3a to the cleaning section
The solenoid valve 9 is normally closed, but by opening the valve 9 and operating the pump 3a at times other than during development, a thin developer solution is supplied to the development electrode 5 and the electrode plate is washed.

As described above, according to the present invention, on the liquid supply side of the device that supplies liquid from the developing section to the cleaning section,
Since a liquid-permeable electrode to which a voltage of the same polarity as the toner is applied is installed, the toner in the developer is blocked from passing through the electrode, and the liquid supplied to the cleaning section is either only the solvent or very little. This results in a developer solution with low concentration. This not only further improves the ability of the cleaning section to dissolve and remove residual developer, but even if this fluid flows down the photoreceptor drum or adheres to peripheral equipment, Since the amount of toner contained is extremely small, there is no contamination of the transfer paper or device due to toner scattering. Furthermore, even if the liquid scraped up remains on the photoreceptor when the apparatus is stopped, there is no risk of toner coagulation, and this will not cause damage to the photoreceptor or blade. Furthermore, since a developer having a high toner concentration can be obtained in areas where the passage of toner is blocked by the electrode, by guiding this to the development electrode,
The development work is more reliable and provides superior effects such as high quality copy images.
