Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the deterioration of a reproduction picture due to the color run of a comb-shaped filter by recording a chrominance signal or insuring against passing through the comb-shaped filter included by a reproduction system when the vertical correlation of the chrominance signal is weaker than the prescribed value. CONSTITUTION:An Y signal (b) and a C signal (f) are separated from an input signal (a) by a comb-shaped filter COMB2. The input signal (a) and its 1H delay signal are passed through BPFs 25 and 24 to become signals (c) and (d) of 3.58mHz and transmitted to a compartor circuit 2. The amplitude or phase of the signal (c) is compared with that of the signal (d) by the comparator circuit 2, and a difference signal (e) in accordance with the vertical correlation is outputted. This control signal (e) is applied to a switch circuit 27. When the signal (e) is at a low level (strong vertical correlation), the output of the COMB2 is selected.
