In this configuration, the amplitude at one end of the vibrator 3 is d 0 , which is small, and even when a small amount of substance adheres to this one end, the vibration is suppressed and the level of the detected substance is reduced, but the output is There was a drawback that false detections could occur unless the voltage became large.

First, in FIGS. 3 and 4, 4 is a vibrator, and this vibrator 4 is a rectangular metal vibrating piece 5 with a narrow part at one end, and a piezoelectric ceramic plate 6 is attached to the center of the metal vibrating piece 5. It is constructed by connecting an additional mass throughput 7 to the other end of the vibrating piece 5. This vibrator 4 is elastically held by a case 8 at a vibration node via an elastic body 9 such as silicone rubber, and one end of a narrow metal vibrating piece 5 protrudes outside of the case 8. .

Furthermore, electrodes 10 and 11 are provided on the surface of the piezoelectric ceramic plate 6 of the vibrator 4.

4 and 15, and external lead wires 16 and 17 are connected to these terminals 14 and 15. Also,
The back electrode of the piezoelectric ceramic plate 6 is connected to a lead wire 18 connected to the metal vibrating piece 5 and a terminal 1 provided on the case 8.

Figures 5 and 6 schematically show the vibrator 4 with this configuration, and the dimension from the narrow end to the vibration node A'-A' is l 1 , and If the dimension from the end of the side where mass 7 is connected to the vibration node B'-B' is l 2 , the relationship with l 0 of the conventional example is l 1 > l 0 >
l becomes 2 . Therefore, when the total length of the vibrator 4 is the same as that of the conventional one, the dimension of the vibrator 4 of the present invention that is housed inside the case 8 is shorter than that of the conventional one, and the dimension l1 that protrudes outside of the case 8 is the conventional size. l Can be longer than 0 . Furthermore, the amplitude d 1 at the tip of the protrusion is the same as the conventional amplitude
d can be greater than 0 .

Such a piezoelectric level detector detects the level of a substance to be detected such as liquid, powder, or granules in a container, and is arranged in a container with one end of a metal vibrating piece 5 facing downward. and additional lead wire 1.
An input signal is applied from 6, and the vibrator 4 is excited. When the amount of the substance to be detected in the container is small and the level of the upper surface is below one end of the metal vibrating piece 5, the amplitude of the vibrator 4 is large and an electrical output of a large voltage can be obtained from the external lead wire 17. When the amount of the substance to be detected is large and one end of the metal vibrating piece 5 is in the substance to be detected, the vibration of the vibrator 4 is suppressed and the amplitude is small.
Almost no electrical output is obtained.

Therefore, it is possible to detect whether the amount of the substance to be detected has increased or decreased to a predetermined level based on the magnitude of the output voltage.

The piezoelectric level detector of the present invention is constructed as described above, and since the size of the vibrator to be housed in the case is short, the overall length of the case can be shortened and the device can be made smaller. Further, since the length of the portion of the vibrator that protrudes outside the case is long and the amplitude at the end portion is large, the damping effect of the tip portion by the substance to be detected can be increased.
In particular, even when the substance to be detected is a fine powder, light in mass, and low in viscosity, the level of the substance to be detected reaches the tip of the transducer, and even if only a small amount is touching the tip, the transducer can be detected reliably. Vibration is suppressed. On the other hand, when the level of the substance to be detected is below the tip of the vibrating element, even if a small amount of substance is attached to the tip, the amplitude of the tip is large, so it is brushed off, and a large amplitude can be reliably obtained. Therefore, there is no possibility of false positive detection, and high detection accuracy can be achieved, which, together with the effect of miniaturization, has great practical value.
