Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a printing apparatus free from a printing mistake and having good efficiency, by automatically turning an automatic paper feed apparatus (CSF) OFF when paper feed is performed manually. CONSTITUTION:A means for turning an automatic paper feed apparatus CSF OFF and a paper detection means 8 for detecting only manually fed printing paper are provided. When it is found that manuall paper feed is performed, CSF6 is turned OFF through a signal line 7 and the OFF-state of CSF6 is informed to a main body apparatus 1 through a signal line 4 to perform printing. When manual paper feed is not performed, it is judged whether CSF6 is held under a functioning state and, when it is judged that CSF6 is held under a non-functioning state, the OFF-state of CSF6 and the non-detection state of manual paper feed are respectively transmitted to the main body apparatus 1 through the signal line 4 and the signal line 6 to perform no printing. When it was judged that CSF6 was held under a functioning state, the ON-state of CSF6 is transmitted to the main body apparatus 1 through the signal line 4 and printing using CSF6 is performed by the order thereof. Therefore, a printing mistake is eliminated.

As is clear from the above description, according to the present invention, C8F is automatically set when manual paper feeding is performed, and C8F is automatically set when paper is not manually fed.
Since the configuration is such that printing is performed after confirming that the 0N10FF of C8F is in a functional state,
Printing errors caused by erroneous switch operations are eliminated, and printing efficiency can be improved.
