For facsimile devices, various recording methods such as electrostatic recording, thermal recording, discharge breakdown recording, and electrophotography have been proposed and put into practical use, but all of them require special recording paper. There are problems with cost, complexity of the recording mechanism, and recording life. For this reason, the inkjet recording method, which allows direct recording on plain paper, has recently attracted attention. The inkjet recording method uses an electric field to accelerate ink from a nozzle that is supplied with ink to the surface of a recording medium that moves relative to the nozzle tip while maintaining a constant distance from the nozzle tip. It performs recording by spraying, and has various advantages such as low cost, no noise, and long recording life. However, since this recording method performs recording by main and sub-scanning, it has been difficult to increase the recording speed.

Therefore, in accordance with Japanese Patent Application No. 54-78094, ink is held in an ink ejection port in which a large number of electrodes are arranged on the inner wall, and a high voltage is applied to selected electrodes based on an image signal, and the selection that occurs at this time is carried out. Due to the electrostatic force between the electrode and the electrode provided outside the ink jet port,
A recording method has been proposed that uses an ink recording head that performs recording by drawing out ink held in an ink jet orifice to enable electronic plane scanning and increase the recording speed.

FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the configuration of an ink recording head that enables this electronic plane scanning, in which 1 is an ink jetting port formed in a slit shape, and 2a and 2b are upper plates forming the ink jetting port 1. and lower plate, 3
4 is a ground conductor arranged opposite to the ink jet port 1; 5 is a recording paper that moves along the ground conductor 4; and 6 is a drive. It is a power source. Note that the electrodes 3 and the driving power source 6 are in one-to-one correspondence, and the driving power source 6 applies a high voltage to the electrode 3 when the applied image signal indicates black. It is.

As described above, a high voltage is applied to the electrode 3 from the drive power source 6 based on the image signal, and ink (not shown) near the electrode 3 to which the high voltage is applied is applied.
Since the ink is ejected from the ink ejection port 1, accelerated by the electric field between it and the ground electrode 4, and attached to the recording paper 5, recording is performed on the recording paper 5 based on the image signal. In this way, recording for one line can be performed without moving the recording paper 5 and the ink recording head, making it possible to increase the recording speed. In this case, it is also possible to arrange the ground conductor 4 between the ink ejection port 1 and the recording paper 5 by providing the ground conductor 4 with an ink passage port. Further, the potential of the ground conductor 4 does not necessarily have to be the ground potential, and can of course be set arbitrarily as long as it is possible to form an electric field necessary for ejecting ink.

By the way, the amount of ink ejected from the ink ejection port 1 depends on the amount of electric charge of the ink, and the amount of electric charge of the ink depends on the electrostatic capacitance between each electrode 3 and the ground, that is, each electrode 3 and its surroundings. It is desirable that the capacitance between each electrode 3 and the ground is uniform because it depends on the capacitance between the components of the device. However, the capacitance between each electrode 3 and the ground is generally non-uniform because the components corresponding to the ground conductor are arranged in a complicated manner, and the ink ejection characteristics may differ for each electrode 3. Therefore,
The problem was that the recorded image quality deteriorated.

In this embodiment, the upper plate 2a' of the ink jet nozzle 1 is composed of a ground conductor 7 and an insulating layer 8. Therefore, the capacitance between each electrode 3 and the ground is determined by the thickness of the insulating layer 8. It can be made uniform by making the distance between each electrode 3 and the ground conductor 7 uniform. Therefore, it is possible to reduce variations in the ink ejection characteristics of each electrode 3 and improve the quality of recorded images. Moreover, this was confirmed by experiment.

Note that when a high voltage is applied to the electrode 3, an electric field is also formed between the electrode 3 and the ground conductor 7, but the electric field between the electrode 3 and the ground electrode 4 disposed opposite the ink ejection port 1 is increased. For example, a part of the ground conductor 7 near the ink ejection port 1 can be removed.

In this embodiment, the lower plate 2b' is connected to the ground conductor 9 and the insulating layer 1.
0, the capacitance between each electrode 3 and the ground can be made uniform by making the thickness of the insulating layer 10 uniform. , it is possible to reduce variations in the ink ejection characteristics in each electrode 3 and improve the quality of recorded images. This was also confirmed through experiments.

As explained above, in the present invention, either the upper plate or the lower plate forming the ink ejection ports is replaced with a plate member having a two-layer structure consisting of a first insulating layer and a ground conductor. A plate-shaped member having a second insulating layer is arranged so that the second insulating layer forms an inner wall of the ink ejecting port, and the second insulating layer forms an inner wall of the ink ejecting port. Since the plurality of selective electrodes are arranged at equal intervals on the inner wall side of either the upper plate or the lower plate, the capacitance of each electrode and the grounding tube can be made uniform. Therefore, there is an advantage that the ink ejection characteristics at each electrode can be made constant and the quality of recorded images can be improved.
