Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a permanent magnet motor capable of further reducing a cogging torque by increasing the width of an auxiliary groove larger than that between salient poles when the auxiliary groove is formed on the surface of the salient pole of an armature. CONSTITUTION:In a permanent magnet motor in which an armature winding 72 is wound to form an armature to obtain a relative rotation between the armature and a permanent magnet field 2 opposed thereto, auxiliary grooves 8c1, 8d1, 8e1 are formed on the surface of the salient-pole 52 for winding, and the widths H2 of the auxiliary grooves 8c1-8e1 are formed larger than the width H1 of the grooves 8a1, 8b1 between the salient poles. Thus, since the auxiliary grooves have width larger than the grooves for the winding having a large depth, the magnetic effects of the both grooves can be equalized to further reduce the cogging torque.
