Conventionally, when multiple webs are layered and slittered and then introduced into a former to be folded, the web is slit into multiple ribbons, and then each of these ribbons is bent at right angles using a turn bar. After the paper is folded using formers located at the front and rear positions, the paper is cut into the required length by a folding machine.

In this folding machine, the web path from stacking multiple webs to slitting and the ribbon path from slitting the web to introducing it into the former are long, so the webs and ribbons tend to meander and paper threading is not easy. When a plurality of webs are stacked and made into a ribbon using a slitter and introduced into a former, it is difficult to stack two webs.

Furthermore, when the slit ribbon is introduced into the former, the long ribbon path causes the ribbon to sag or meander to one side, causing its sides to overlap each other, resulting in the former not being completely folded.

Hereinafter, the present invention will be explained in detail with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2, which show details of the present invention. FIG. 1 is a front view showing an embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 2 is a side view of FIG. 1. In the figure, 5 is a correction roller, and the web 6, which has the same width,
The correction roller 5 is provided on each of the webs 6 to 8 to adjust the cutting position in the lateral direction when the stacked web 9 consisting of webs 7, 8, etc. is cut by a folding machine (not shown).

10 is a drag roller for each of the webs 6 to 8. Reference numeral 11 designates a roller that overlaps webs 6 to 8, and the webs 6 to 8 are stacked on the same roller 11.
The perforation roller 12 makes perforations from the inside of the fold so that the folding can be done accurately and easily when forming the fold after slitting it. A plurality of perforation rollers 12 are provided facing each other along the length of the ribbon, and the perforation rollers 12 cooperate with each other in the width direction of the web 9 so that the position of the perforation can be adjusted when the overlapping web 9 meanders or sag on one side. It is now possible to move around.

13 to 15 are slitters that slit the width W of the overlapped web 9 to 1/4W to make four ribbons 16 to 19; 20 are slitters that slit the width W of the overlapped web 9 to 1/2W; 15 and 20 are out of phase as shown in FIG. 1 and are free to rotate in correspondence with the stacked ribbon drag rollers 21 to 23, and cooperate with the stacked ribbon drag rollers 21 to 23 to roll the stacked web. It is designed to be able to move in the width direction of 9.

In this embodiment, three slitters 13 to 15 are provided in order to slit the width W of the overlapped web 9 by 1/4W into four ribbons 16 to 19, but the number is limited to three depending on the number of ribbons. Needless to say, it will not be done. Further, the mounting positions of the slitters 13 to 15 may be shifted as in the embodiment, or they may be aligned on the same line. In this case, the stacked ribbon drag rollers 21 to 23 are shared, so there is only one.

Reference numerals 24 and 25 indicate upper and lower formers that are arranged one above the other with their apexes facing downward with respect to the flow of the overlapping web 9. These formers 24 and 25 are formed after the overlapping web 9 is formed into four ribbons 16 to 19. Two ribbons are provided above and below for folding, and a lower former 25 is installed between the upper former 24, and the slitted ribbons 16 to 19 are sagged on one side, meandering, etc. so that their sides overlap each other. In order to avoid misalignment, the running surfaces of the web and ribbon passing through the upper and lower formers 24 and 25 are kept at an appropriate angle .theta. by overlapping ribbon drag rollers 23, as shown in FIG. Furthermore, the reason why the upper former 24 is larger than the lower former 25 is because of the width W of the overlapping web 9 as shown in FIG.
After slitting the ribbon to W/2 with a slitter 20 to form two ribbons 26 and 27, a double former can be passed through a parallel upper former 24. Therefore, in order to make the overlapping web 9 into two ribbons 26 and 27, the upper former 24 is used.
can be translated in parallel from the solid line to the dotted line as shown in FIG. The lower former 25 is capable of folding a ribbon obtained by slitting the width W of the web 9 to 1/4W, and is movable in the width direction of the overlapping web 9 like the upper former 24. 28 to 31 are correction rollers, and ribbons 16 to 19
Upper and lower formers 24, 24, 25, 25 respectively
This is a correction roller that adjusts the cutting position of the former-folded ribbon when the former-folded ribbon is subjected to the former-folding and is introduced into a folding machine (not shown). Note that all of the above configurations are fixed or attached to the folding introduction frame 33.

Next, the operation of the present invention will be explained. The webs 6 to 8 printed by a printing unit (not shown) are moved through these guide rollers 4, correction rollers 5, and drag rollers 10 of each web 6, 7, and 8 to become a stacked web 9, and are transferred to the stacked drag rollers 11 and the sewing machine. There are multiple perforations, four in this embodiment, from the inside that is folded by the eye roller 12.
It can be inserted in 3 places to make 1 or 19 ribbons.

In order to slit the width W of the overlapped web 9 to 1/2W and form-fold it into two ribbons 26 and 27, slitters 13 to 15 and the same slitter 1 are used.
Perforations are made in the ribbons 16 to 19 slit in steps 3 to 15.The perforation roller 12 is not activated, and the perforations are folded into a form by the perforation roller 32.The ribbons are inserted from the inside and then slit by the slitter 20 to form the ribbons 26, 27. As explained above, in the present invention, a plurality of webs are stacked into a web without using a turn bar, so the ribbon path from the slit position of the web to the point where it is introduced into the former is shortened, so the machine height is reduced. Moreover, since the structure is simple, it is economically inexpensive and maintenance and inspection is easy. Furthermore, when guiding multiple slit ribbons to the upper and lower formers, the sides of these ribbons are prevented from overlapping each other, so the folding dimensions of the signatures to be formatted are the same, improving the folding accuracy of the signatures. .
