Decorative plywood, which is used for wall materials, flooring, etc., is made by bonding a decorative veneer to the surface of a plywood base plate, and is often commercially available with a thickness of 3 to 15 mm. Among such decorative plywood, so-called thin ones, especially those with a thickness of about 3 mm or 4 mm, usually exhibit an upwardly warped state in which the surface side is concave.

The above-mentioned warpage is thought to be caused by the following reasons. In other words, the plywood that is the baseboard of decorative plywood is made by gluing together an odd number of veneers. For example, in the case of a 3-ply plywood baseboard, the front and back veneers of the front, core, and back boards are the same thickness. These veneers are alternately stacked so that the fiber directions are perpendicular to each other. By forming it in this way, even if the wood expands or contracts due to changes in the moisture content of each veneer, the reactions will be balanced against each other, making it possible to obtain a plywood base plate that is less likely to warp or twist. That is what it is.

However, when a decorative veneer is bonded to one side of the plywood base plate using an adhesive, moisture in the adhesive causes a change in the water content in the plywood base plate, especially in the top plate. This is because the above-mentioned equilibrium collapses due to this influence.

Conventionally, when using decorative plywood, thicker pieces were fixed to beams or joists using a combination of adhesive and nails, so even if the plywood warped slightly, there was no particular problem during construction. However, thin products are usually attached directly onto a smooth base material using adhesive or double-sided adhesive tape, and in this case, if there is a warp, the edges will rise, making it difficult to install. This would have caused problems. Even in this case, gluing is possible if the peripheral edge is pressed against the base material, so there seems to be no particular problem. Since the upward force that tries to return continues to act, the periphery of the decorative plywood glued during use will peel off from the base material and rise up. Therefore, it was necessary to make thin decorative plywood so that it would not warp as much as possible.

In general, in the case of unwarped plywood, the neutral axis passes through the center of the core plate, and the tensile stress on the upper and lower sides can be considered to be balanced. Therefore, in order to eliminate warping in decorative plywood, it is necessary to predict how much tensile force will be generated by gluing the decorative veneer to the plywood base plate, and then apply the equal tensile force to the opposite side. All you have to do is make it happen.
In other words, if the neutral axis passes through the center of the decorative plywood, it is possible to make decorative plywood without warping.

In view of the above points, the present inventor has conducted various studies and as a result has achieved the present invention. That is, the inventor of the present invention formed the back plate of the 3-ply plywood base plate to be thicker than the front plate so that the tensile stress on the lower side of the plywood base plate was greater than that on the upper side. This is caused by pasting Japanese paper on the back of the board, then spraying water on the surface of the Japanese paper, and using the shrinkage force of the Japanese paper caused by the evaporation of water to adhere the decorative veneer to the plywood base. It is made to resist tensile force, and the neutral axis passes through the center of the decorative flash plywood, so that it is possible to obtain decorative flash plywood that has no warpage, or even if it warps, it exhibits some downward curvature with the surface side convex. It is something to do.

First, among the top plate 11, core plate 12, and back plate 13 of 3-ply plywood, the thickness of the back plate 13 is set to be larger than the top plate 11, preferably 2 to 3.5 times thicker than the top plate 11.
A 3-ply plywood base plate 10 with a thickness of 2.5 to 2.7 mm is manufactured by a conventional method (FIG. 1A). According to the prototype produced by the present inventor, the specific thickness of each veneer is 0.5 to 0.6 mm for the top plate 11, 1.1 to 1.2 mm for the core plate 12, and 1.1 to 1.3 mm for the back plate 13. It has been found that it is possible to produce decorative plywood with almost no warping.

After producing the plywood base plate 10 as described above, a decorative veneer 20 with a thickness of 0.25 to 0.30 mm is placed on the surface of the plywood base plate 10.
They are superimposed with a known thermosetting adhesive a interposed therebetween and bonded together by heat pressure, and then left for about a day and night to cool (FIG. 1B). As the decorative veneer 20, one formed in a marquetry pattern or the like by a known method may be used.

After that, 8 to 10 g/
After hot-pressing or laminating Japanese paper 30 with a weight of 2 m2 using a known adhesive B (Fig. 1 C), water was evenly sprinkled on the surface of the Japanese paper 30 using a water spraying device, and then the paper was coated for about a day and a night. Leave it alone (Figure 1 D). The amount of water to be sprayed is such that the total amount of water including the water content in the adhesive b used for pasting the Japanese paper 30 is 2.5 to 3 times the water content in the adhesive a. By doing this, when the water in the Japanese paper 30 evaporates, the Japanese paper 30 shrinks, and the shrinkage force of the Japanese paper 30 and the back plate 13 of the plywood base plate 10
Coupled with the fact that the thickness of the decorative plywood is larger than that of the top plate 11, a stress is generated in the decorative plywood to counter warp, so that the neutral axis is centered around the center of the decorative plywood. The stress generated by adhering the decorative veneer 20 to the plywood base plate 10 and the stress generated on the opposite side are balanced, and there is no warping, or even if there is warping, the surface side is convex and exhibits some downward warping. Thus, decorative burr plywood with no practical problems can be obtained. By the way, the product is curved downward (width 303mm, length 1818mm)
When the arrow height of the warp was measured for the 100% polyester resin, it was 3 mm or less.

When manufacturing decorative plywood, we accurately understand all the factors that affect warping, such as the variation in the shrinkage rate of the raw wood, the degree of shrinkage of the adhesive during heat pressing, the dryness of the wood surface, and the distribution of moisture content. It is difficult to achieve this, and it also differs depending on the wood species, but normally, if the back plate 13 is made 2 to 3.5 times as thick as the top plate 11, as described above, the neutral axis will be the same as that of the decorative plywood. It is possible to manufacture decorative plywood so that it passes through the center.

In general, when manufacturing this type of decorative plywood, a plywood base plate 10 is formed to a size of 1835 x 930 (mm), and a decorative veneer 20 is bonded to the surface in an arbitrary pattern. After manufacturing, the surface was further polished and painted, and then it was divided into three parts in the longitudinal direction, each measuring 1,818 mm x 303 mm. 40 is a double-sided adhesive tape adhered to the back side of the decorative plywood, and 50 is a covering tape releasably pasted on the surface of the double-sided adhesive tape 40. During construction, this covering tape 50 is peeled off to expose the adhesive surface. .

The decorative burr plywood manufactured as described above has no warpage, or even if it does, it shows a downward curvature, and there is no problem in practical use, so it is suitable for direct pasting, and later It will not peel off from the skin.

Furthermore, when used as flooring material for newly built houses, it offers various superior effects compared to conventional thick (12 mm to 15 mm thick) decorative plywood. In other words, the base material is ordinary plywood (12 mm thick) that has not been grained on all four sides, and this is fixed by rough nailing to the joists, etc., and decorative plywood (3 mm thick) is used on top of this. You just need to attach a thick one).
Cheap materials can be used as the base material, construction is simple, and the construction cost per unit area can be lower than that of conventional products. Unlike conventional products, there is no need to fit and join pieces that have been subjected to real-grain processing, so there is no possibility of treading.
During construction, floors, walls, and ceilings usually have to be constructed in this order, so when constructing walls and ceilings,
The floor that has already been constructed may become dirty or scratched, but when using decorative plywood obtained by the present invention, the walls and ceiling can be constructed at the stage when the base material for the floor has been constructed, and then the final Since it becomes possible to adopt a construction method in which decorative plywood is pasted to the base material and finished, the drawbacks of conventional construction methods can be eliminated. Conventionally, in the case of 15mm thick decorative plywood, a 1.2 to 1.3mm thick veneer is used as the top plate of the plywood base plate, so the difference in thickness between the decorative veneer and the decorative veneer is extremely large. Cracks tend to occur, so to prevent this, paper or cloth is inserted between the plywood baseboard and the decorative veneer, and a 7-ply plywood baseboard is used to reduce the thickness of the top board within the plywood baseboard. However, with the decorative beam plywood obtained by the present invention, the thickness of the top plate of the plywood base plate can be reduced, so it is not necessary to use the measures used in conventional products. This means that cracks that occur in the decorative veneer can be resolved without applying it.
