Therefore, the inventors have attempted to provide a material which is particularly suitable as a protective material for transporting furniture and other luggage, in place of conventional light quilts and blankets, and have devised a material which is lightweight, easy to handle, has a soft surface, and has good cushioning properties overall. The material is made of an air-retaining sheet having a large number of independent air-storing chambers as the inner member, and is covered with a soft synthetic resin foam sheet as the outer member.
In particular, in this invention, the synthetic resin foam sheet used as the exterior material has excellent cushioning properties, but is also relatively weak and prone to tearing. In view of this, the foam sheet is polymerized with a reinforcing material to give the exterior material strength, and the air-retaining sheet is folded inward in half and joined at one end while the air-retaining sheet and the exterior material are overlapped, thereby enhancing the cushioning protection effect.

Next, embodiments of the present invention will be described based on the drawings.
In the figure, numeral 1 is an air-containing sheet which is an internal material, and is made by laminating two sheets of polyethylene resin film or other relatively flexible synthetic resin film with many parts of the film on one side bulging out. , consisting of a laminate in which a large number of independent air storage chambers 2 are arranged or scattered over the entire surface between the films. 3 is a flexible synthetic resin foam sheet such as a polyolefin resin foam such as polyethylene, polypropylene, or a copolymer mainly composed of these, polyvinyl chloride resin foam, or other soft synthetic resin foam; is coated on the outside of the air holding sheet 1. Reference numeral 4 denotes a reinforcing material polymerized on at least one side of the foamed sheet 3, and is made of a non-foamed synthetic resin film, fabric such as non-woven fabric or woven fabric, or other flexible and tensile-resistant material. This reinforcing material 4 is a foam sheet 3 as in the illustrated embodiment.
Although it is preferable to stack them by adhesive means, it is also possible to simply use them in an overlapping state and join them at required points by, for example, joining the front and back sides of the whole as described later. A polymer of the foam sheet 3 and reinforcing material 4 is configured as an exterior material 5 for the interior material.

As mentioned above, the cushioning protection material a of the present invention uses the air holding sheet 1, which is a laminate of synthetic resin films and has a large number of air storage compartments 2 between the films, as an inner material, and has a flexible material on the outside. It is made by covering an exterior material 5 mainly made of a certain synthetic resin foam sheet 3, especially the above-mentioned air holding sheet 1.
and the exterior material 5 are folded in half and joined at least on one side edge in a superimposed state, so not only the exterior material 5 mainly composed of the foam sheet 3 but also the interior material. A certain air holding sheet 1 also has a two-layer structure on the front and back, and can have a considerable thickness as a whole due to the overlapping of the air storage compartments 2, and can greatly improve its cushioning properties. Despite its considerable thickness, the space holding effect of the air holding sheet 1 makes it extremely lightweight and easy to handle. Moreover, both the air holding sheet 1 and the foamed sheet 3 have good bendability, and the foamed sheet 3 Since the reinforced reinforcing material is also flexible, it is easy to bend it into a shape suitable for luggage or packaged goods, or to a size suitable for intervening between luggage, etc.
Therefore, it is easy to apply the tape to the top of the luggage such as furniture, to intervene between the luggage, and to attach it to the article to be packaged, thereby making the packing work easier. In particular, when it is joined at required intervals in the vertical or horizontal direction, it can be bent more easily at the joined parts 7, and it can be easily adapted to luggage or packaged articles.

Furthermore, in the case of the present invention, the exterior material is not the foam sheet 3 alone, but a reinforcing material 4 such as a synthetic resin film or cloth is polymerized with it, so that the weaknesses of the foam sheet can be compensated for. It has increased strength as an exterior material, and even if it is subjected to localized loads or strong frictional forces due to contact with the corners of packages or packaged items, or hanging from ropes, etc., it will not tear easily like foam sheets alone. It is extremely durable. In particular, when the reinforcing material 4 is laminated and bonded to the foam sheet 3, even if the foam sheet 3 is partially torn, the reinforcing material 4 can maintain its integrity, preventing breakage or tearing. This can prevent holes from expanding. Therefore, by using such an exterior material, the air holding sheet 1, which is an internal material, can be well protected and the air storage compartment 2 can be prevented from being torn. Furthermore, since the air holding sheet 1 is made up of a large number of air storage compartments 2, even if one or local air storage compartment 2 is torn, it can be covered by other air storage compartments 2 existing around it. I can do it,
Therefore, it has an excellent effect on maintaining the overall cushioning properties,
Can be used repeatedly. Further, when the reinforcing material 4 is made of a fabric such as a non-woven fabric or a woven fabric and is polymerized on the outer surface of the foamed sheet 3, it has an excellent protective effect on the surfaces of very delicate furniture and the like where paint or foil is easily peeled off.

Furthermore, although the present invention is made of three materials: the air retaining sheet 1, the foam sheet 3 serving as the exterior material, and the reinforcing material 4 as described above, the air retaining sheet 1 and the exterior material 5 are overlapped. Since it is folded in half and the front and back sides are integrally joined at at least one side edge, it does not come apart easily in handling, and can be manufactured and provided easily and inexpensively.
