As is well known, in general portable lights, in order to make effective use of the not-so-strong light of the light bulb, which is powered by a battery built into the main body case, the light bulb is illuminated by an optical system consisting of a parabolic mirror and lens. The structure is such that the light is collected and irradiated intensively onto the front side of the main body case. Therefore, the light that diffuses in directions other than the light irradiation direction (optical axis direction) is extremely weak, and in particular, almost no light exits from the back side of the main body case in the direction opposite to the light irradiation direction.

Therefore, for example, if a pedestrian is walking at night with this type of condensed light emitting portable light illuminating the front step, from the position of the driver of a car coming from behind the pedestrian, The light from a pedestrian's mobile light could not be seen, resulting in a delay in finding the pedestrian and causing an accident.

This idea was devised in view of the conventional problems mentioned above, and its purpose was to concentrate the light from the light bulb and effectively illuminate the front without impairing its original function. To provide a portable electric lamp in which a part of the light is led out with extremely high efficiency and irradiated to the back side as auxiliary light.

In order to achieve the above purpose, this device is built into the main body case from the front side to the back side, and one end surface on the front side is exposed at a predetermined part of the reflective surface of the curved mirror of the main illumination optical system. An optical fiber is attached to the back surface of the main body case, and the other end surface of the optical fiber is optically coupled to the optical fiber through which part of the light from the light bulb enters on one end surface of the optical fiber. The present invention is characterized in that a light diffusing plate is provided to diffuse the incoming light and emit it to the back side of the main body case.

The figure is an overall view mainly showing the main parts of a portable electric lamp to which the present invention is applied. This portable light includes a light bulb 2 that is driven by a battery (not shown) built into the main body case 1, and a light bulb 2 that focuses the light from the light bulb 2 and irradiates it on the front side of the main body case 1 (arrow A) An optical system 3 is provided. The optical system 3 is composed of a parabolic mirror 3a and a front lens 3b. The front lens 3b may be formed simply from a transparent plate. The light bulb 2 is located near the focal point of the parabolic mirror 3a. The lighting of the light bulb 2 is controlled by a waterproof switch S1 disposed on the upper part of the main body case 1.

Inside the main body case 1, an optical fiber 4 extends from the front side to the back side. One end of this optical fiber 4 is made to protrude from a hole 5 formed in the parabolic mirror 3a toward the reflective surface of the mirror 3a, and the protruding end 4a of the optical fiber 4 is directed toward the light bulb 2. It's bent. That is, the optical fiber 4
The protruding end 4a itself becomes a light introduction part facing between the light bulb 2 and the optical system 3, and a part of the light from the light bulb 2 enters the end face of the light introduction end 4a and is guided to the optical fiber 4.

Further, a light diffusing plate 6 as an auxiliary light irradiation section is provided on the back side of the main body case 1. The light diffusing plate 6 is made of a milky white acrylic plate or the like, and the other end surface of the optical fiber 4 is optically coupled to one end surface thereof.

With this configuration, a small portion of the light emitted from the light bulb 2 enters the fiber 4 from the light introduction end 4a of the optical fiber 4 and is extracted from the optical system 3, and the extracted light is transmitted through the optical fiber 4. The light is guided to the light diffusing plate 6 on the back of the main body case 1 . In this light diffusing plate 6, the light incident from the optical fiber 4 is diffused evenly, and as a result, the light diffusing plate 6
From the light irradiation surface 6a, auxiliary light is emitted in the opposite direction to the light irradiation direction by the optical system 3, although it is not very strong, but is sufficient to be visible in a dark place (arrow B).
be done. Therefore, when used by pedestrians on the road at night as described above, the light illumination light from the front side of the mobile lamp cannot be seen by the driver of the car from behind the pedestrian. Also, the auxiliary light emitted to the back side of the main body case 1 can be easily recognized, improving safety in such usage conditions.
What should be noted here is that the end 4a of the optical fiber 4 is connected to the optical system 3 in order to obtain the illumination light.
This only creates a very slight hindrance and has almost no effect on the effect of concentrating the light on the front side. It is guided by the fiber 4 and utilized as supplementary illumination light with extremely high efficiency.
