Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a developer from leaking to both end parts of a magnet roll when conveyed by the magnet roll by forming spiral grooves which extend to the center of the magnet roll surface in the magnetic roll surface. CONSTITUTION:The spiral grooves M1 and M2 which are symmetric about the surface center part as an axis of symmetry are formed in the surface of the magnet roll 15 and those grooves M1 and M2 move toward the center according to the rotation of the magnet roll 15 shown by an arrow F. Therefore, a developer DP engaged with the surface of the magnet roll 15 by a paddle wheel 14 is carried to a photosensitive body 20 while urged to flow toward the center through the movement of the grooves M1 and M2 according to the rotation of the magnet roll 15 shown by the arrow F. This developer DP carried as mentioned above falls on the center part of the developing device more with force to the center even when falling from the magnet roll 15 on the completion of development.

Inside the developing device surrounded by a case 10, a developer DP mixed with toner TN at a suitable content is charged in advance and stored in a state as shown by the broken line in the figure. Note that the toner TN is filled in advance in a container 11, and when the device is driven, it is uniformly dispersed and dropped by the rotation of a toner dispenser roll 12 made of foamed polyurethane or the like and supplied to the blender 13. The charged developer DP is conveyed by a nozzle wheel 14 as shown by the arrow in the figure, and is rolled onto a magnet roll 15 whose surface is magnetized in a predetermined manner. Then, the magnet roll 15 transports the developer DP that has become dark, dark, and dark as it rotates in the direction of the arrow F in the figure, and also transports the latent image formed on the surface of the photoreceptor 20 (this formation is (This is well known in the general copying theory of electronic copying machines, and its explanation is omitted here) to make the latent image visible. Furthermore, when the developer DP is conveyed by the magnet roll 15, the surplus expression developer DP is removed by the trimmer plate 16 and further returned to the blender 13 via the mixer plate 17. Further, the developer DP() after the development (the developer content is low) is kicked off from the magnet roll 15 by the repulsive magnetic field and centrifugal force on the surface of the magnet roll 15, and the above-mentioned rotation of the paddle wheel 14 Based on this, this is also returned to blender 13. The developer DP returned to the blender 13 is transferred to the blender 5-1.
Based on the above-described operations of the toner dispenser roll 12 and the toner dispenser roll 12, the toner content is again adjusted to an appropriate toner content and frictionally charged.

Incidentally, in such a conventional developing device, although the surface of the magnet roll 15 is magnetized in a predetermined manner so that the developer DP can be conveyed as described above, both ends of the magnet roll 150 are inevitably Since the magnetic force is low, there is a problem in that the developer DP being conveyed tends to come loose from both ends. FIG. 4 shows this situation from the front direction of the magnet roll 5, and the developer DP conveyed based on the rotation of the magnet roll 15 flows from both ends as indicated by the arrow in the figure. It falls like this. It is preferable that a large amount of the developer DP drips onto the edge of the developing device as shown in FIG.

[Means and effects for solving the problem] In the present invention, a spiral groove is provided on the surface of the magnet roll, which extends toward the center of the magnet roll surface, and the rotation of the magnet roll in the above-described predetermined direction is improved. Alternatively, the developer being transported is forcibly gathered toward the center.

Therefore, according to the developing device for an electronic copying machine according to the present invention, the developer is effectively prevented from spilling onto both ends of the magnet and troller, and the developer is also moved in the axial direction of the magnet roll. As a result, development efficiency is also significantly improved. In particular, the aspect ratio and image density of thin lines are improved by 1.

FIG. 1 shows an embodiment of a developing device according to the present invention. However, since the overall configuration of the device is basically the same as that shown in FIG. 3, only the structure of the magnet roll, which is the main part of the present invention, is shown here. .

Therefore, the paddle wheel 14 (see FIG. 3)
The developer DP adhered to and engaged with the surface of the magnet roll 15 is moved along the arrow F of the magnet roll 15.
As the photoreceptor rotates in this direction, the photoreceptor 20 (see FIG. 3) is transported to the photoreceptor 20 (see FIG. 3) while flowing toward the center, which is related to the above-described screw movement of the grooves M1 and M2. Furthermore, even when the developer DP conveyed in this manner falls off the magnet roll 15 after the above-mentioned development is completed, it is pushed toward the center of the developing device by the force directed toward the center. It starts to spill a lot.

FIG. 2 shows how the developer DP falls off the magnet roll 15 from the front direction of the magnet roll 15, and as shown, much of the developer DP falls in the center of the developing device. If this becomes possible, the problem of the inside of the copying machine being contaminated by the developer DP will be solved, and the collection efficiency of the broken developer DP by the paddle wheel 14 will also be improved. The operating efficiency of the developing device will also be improved. Further, as described above, the flow of the developer DP in the axial direction of the magnet roll 15 improves the development efficiency itself.

In the above embodiment, the spiral grooves were provided on the surface of the magnet roll 15 so as to be symmetrical with respect to the center of the surface as the axis of symmetry, but the arrangement of the spiral grooves is not limited to this. The same spiral may be used as the magnetic roll 15.
It may be provided in any manner as long as it is directed toward the center of the surface.
