Abstract

PURPOSE:To humidify upon conditioning air without affecting the air passing through a heat exchanger by a method wherein the humidifying device for the air-conditioning machine is constituted of an upper pan for reserving water therein, a water absorbing member, whose part is dipped into the upper pan, and a ventilating part arranged around the upper pan. CONSTITUTION:The humidifying device for the air-conditioning machine is constituted of the upper pan 8, for reserving water, the water absorbing member 9a, whose one part is dipped into the pan 8, and the ventilating part 8b, ar ranged around the pan 8. Upon the room heating operation of the air-condi tioning machine, a part of warm air, heated by the heat exchanger 3, flows as shown by an arrow sign (d), absorbs water at the surfaces of the water in the pan 8 and the water absorbing member 9a, passes through the ventilating part 8b in a clearance between the upper pan 8 and a lower pan 9 and enters into a room together with airflow shown by the arrow sign C to humidify the inside of the room. The air in the room may be humidified in such manner without affecting the flow of air passing through the heat exchanger.

11 is a casing, 12 is a front panel, 13 is a suction grill, 24 is a heat exchanger, and 16 is a drain pan, which stores water 17 inside and supplies water 17 to a humidifying section 28. Air is sucked in by the blower 20 as shown by the arrow 21 (from the suction grill 13, humidified by the humidifier 28, and then sent to the blowout looper 19).
It is blown out from. However, this has a large effect on the air flowing into the heat exchanger 24, and no consideration has been given to the effective utilization of the heat exchanger.

The present invention provides an upper surface for storing water near the air outlet, and immerses the lower part of the water-absorbing material in the water of the upper plate to improve the efficiency of water evaporation. A ventilation section is provided below the upper plate to allow hot air to pass between the upper plate and the lower plate during heating. This warm air raises the temperature of the water in the upper tray, promoting evaporation and providing efficient humidification.
