Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a composite of an aromatic polyamide fiber and a rubber compound, having improved flexural fatigue resistance and adhesivity and suppressed fraying of the fiber, and suitable for driving belt, etc., by applying an adhesive to aromatic polyamide fibers, collecting and twisting the fibers, and again applying an adhesive thereto. CONSTITUTION:First-twisted or paralleled aromatic polyamide fibers (e.g. poly-p- or m-benzamide) are immersed in a rubber cement (e.g. solvent solution of SBR, EPT, etc.) for 0.1-0.5min and heat-treated at 120-200 deg.C, or immersed in a mixture of resorcin-formaline-rubber latex for 0.1-0.5min and heat-treated at 150-230 deg.C. Several number of the treated fibers are collected, subjected to the first-twisting, and bonded with an unvulcanized rubber (e.g. SBR, EPT, etc.), and the rubber is vulcanized.

(Prior Art) Generally, industrial rubber products such as rubber hoses, power transmission belts, conveyor belts, and tires are reinforced using fiber materials for rubber reinforcement. In order to improve performance, aromatic polyamide fibers (eg, Kevlar, trade name), which have better physical properties than polyamide fibers, polyester fibers, etc., have come to be widely used.

There is a method of treating with a resorcinol-formalin-rubber latex adhesive liquid (hereinafter referred to as RFL liquid). There is a method of pre-treating with an epoxy or isocyanate compound and then treating with an RFL liquid. Although the fatigue stability is good, the adhesion is poor, while the latter method has good adhesion but the treated fibers become stiff, and the bending fatigue stability is poor. It has not yet been achieved.

(Means for Solving the Invention) That is, there are two features of the present invention, one of which is that the aromatic polyamide fibers that are hung or aligned in the lower part are coated with rubber glue or resorcinol-formalin. - Aromatic polyamide fiber and rubber compound that is immersed in a latex solution and dried, then collects a plurality of the above-treated aromatic polyamide fibers and twists them together, and then vulcanizes the fibers in close contact with unvulcanized rubber. The other method involves immersing first-twisted or aligned aromatic polyamide fibers in rubber glue or a resorcinol-formalin-latex solution and drying them, then attaching them to the treated aromatic polyamide fibers. Aromatic polyamide fibers and rubber compound in which a plurality of polyamide fibers are collected and twisted, further immersed in the above-mentioned rubber paste or resorcinol-formalin-latex solution, dried, and then vulcanized in close contact with unvulcanized rubber. The method of adhesion is as follows.

That is, in the bonding method of the present invention, aromatic polyamide fibers are pre-adhesively treated, several fibers are collected and twisted, so that the surface of the resulting fiber cord is evenly coated with adhesive, The binding force between the fiber cords is increased and fibrillation of the filaments can be prevented. If the cords thus obtained are further subjected to adhesive treatment, the binding force between the cords will further increase, and the object of the present invention can be further enhanced.

Furthermore, the above-mentioned twisted cords were immersed in a treatment solution having the same composition as shown in Table 1, and then heat treated at 150"C for 2 minutes (Examples No. 2 and No. 4). Next, these treated cords were placed in a drum. A chloroprene rubber compound of Table '3 having a thickness of 3ffilW was laminated on top of the adhesive tape by spinning.

Then, this laminated sample was cut and vulcanized at 150°C for 30 minutes. After vulcanization, the sample was cut to a width of 25 mm and tested at a tensile speed of 50 mm using a peel tester (Shimadzu's Niotogelaf). Peel adhesion was measured. The results are also listed in Table 1. In addition, in the table, comparative example No. 2 is 15

Example 2 Each of the cords treated in Example 1 was spun onto a 1.0 mm thick chloroprene rubber compound of Table 3, which was separately wound on a drum, and a cord of the same thickness and composition was spun onto the chloroprene rubber compound of Table 3 above. Laminated chloroprene rubber compound, 8kg/crA 3
Steam vulcanization was performed for 0 minutes, and a sample in which two cords were embedded was prepared from the vulcanized material. Then, this sample was wrapped around a rotating bending bar located in the vertical direction, one end of the sample was fixed to a frame, a load of 2 kg was applied to the other end, and the rotating bending bar was reciprocated 5000 times to conduct a bending test. The strength of the sample was measured at a tensile speed of 50 mm/min. The results are also listed in Table 1 above.

Table (Rubber Compound) (Effects of the Invention) As described above, the bonding method of the present invention is superior to the conventional method in which several aromatic polyamide fibers are collected and twisted and then bonded. Since the fibers that have been adhesively treated are collected and twisted, the resulting cord has good cohesive strength, and it is possible to suppress fibrillation of the filaments and prevent fraying. In order to re-bond the finished cords, it is possible to apply the adhesive evenly around each component cord, which has an excellent effect of further improving the bending fatigue stability of the composite and the fraying of the fibers. There is.
