できる。 This type of oxidation is primarily used on an industrial scale using cyclohexane and cyclododecane. Typically, the gas containing molecular oxygen is not pure oxygen, but a mixture of oxygen and an inert gas, such as air or air with an increased or decreased oxygen content, and which can be present in a reaction mixture such as cobalt naphthenate. A soluble cobalt salt is used as a catalyst, but
other metals, especially chromium, vanadium, manganese,
Salts of transition metals such as iron or nickel can also be used.

方法を提供するものである。 During the oxidation of cyclohexane on an industrial scale, the degree of conversion of cyclohexane is usually between, e.g.
It is kept as low as 12%, preferably 3-7%. In practice, this has the disadvantage that after the end of the oxidation reaction, large amounts of unconverted cyclohexane must be evaporated from the reaction mixture for subsequent recycling. During the oxidation, the heat of reaction is carried away by the off-gas, which, apart from unconverted oxygen, essentially consists of inert gases, cyclohexane vapor and water vapor. The off-gas is then cooled to form a condensate that separates into a separate organic phase and a separate aqueous phase. The aqueous phase is removed, while the organic phase saturated with water vapor is recycled to the oxidation reactor. However, this known method is prone to fouling of the reaction vessel. This requires periodic cleaning of the container, and the resulting reduction in production and expense are significant disadvantages. Another feature of the known process is that the degree of oxidation is unpredictable and difficult to control, resulting in an increase in the oxygen content of the reactor off-gas, so-called oxygen leakage. Since too high an oxygen content of the off-gas creates a risk of explosion, it is customary to shut off the reactor by activation of a protection device when the oxygen content of the off-gas reaches a predetermined maximum value. This also results in significant production losses. The present invention aims at alleviating these difficulties, and involves carrying out an oxidation reaction using a gas containing a molecular gas in the presence of a molten metal salt acting as a catalyst, but in the absence of a boric acid derivative. The cycloalkane is oxidized to the corresponding cycloalkanone and/or cycloalkanol in the liquid phase in a reactor, the unconverted cycloalkane is removed from the reaction mixture, and the separated cycloalkane is A process is provided which is characterized in that the water content of the cycloalkane to be oxidized is reduced to a value below the saturation point before being fed to the oxidation reactor for recycling to the oxidation process.

This is contrary to the previously held view that it is desirable to add water to the cycloalkane to be oxidized (see, for example, GB 1172655).

ものではない。 Removal of dissolved water from the cycloalkane oxidation process is sometimes applied during the oxidation of cycloalkanes in the presence of boric acid derivatives.
However, the above procedure serves a completely different purpose, namely, esterification of boric acid derivatives during the oxidation reaction.
The cycloalkanol formed serves to promote the conversion of fully hydrated boric acid derivatives, such as orthoboric acid, to less hydrated derivatives, such as metaboric acid. This application does not claim protection with respect to oxidation in the presence of boric acid derivatives.

For example, chemical or physical water absorbents, preferably molecular sieves, are utilized. A preferred possibility is the removal of water by distillation in the form of an azeotrope with cycloalkanes, in which case it is desirable to use a stripping gas, such as, for example, nitrogen or air, preferably an off-gas from an oxidation reaction.

Inside the cooling scrubber 15 a mixture of two liquid phases is formed: an organic phase and an aqueous phase. This mixture flows through line 22 to separator 23 where it is separated into its respective phases. Water phase is pipe 2
The organic phase is conveyed via line 5 to the oxidation reactor and is used as cyclohexane feed.

The cooling scrubber is supplied through the cooling scrubber. The water not evaporated in the reactor is evaporated as a cyclohexane/water azeotrope in distillation column 11 and fed via line 13 to the cooling scrapper. The feed cyclohexane fed to the reactor via line 5 is saturated (at that temperature) with dissolved water and no more than the previously mentioned "dissolved water" which cannot be removed in a conventional separator It may further contain some finely dispersed water, which is included in the definition of "dispersed water".

発明の目的が達成されることである。 Referring to Figure 2, reference numbers 1-24 are
It has the same meaning as used in the figure. However, the organic phase recovered from separator 23 is no longer fed directly to the oxidation reactor, but rather flows through line 25 to stripping column 26 where it is contacted with the reactor off-gas from line 20. Non-condensable gas from stripping column 26 is conveyed through line 27 to cooling scrubber 15. The major benefit of this arrangement is that stripping by off-gas removes water from the organic phase saturated with dissolved water, thereby achieving the objectives of the present invention.

Alternatively, at least a portion, but not all, is used as stripping steam and is fed for that purpose to the stripping column 26 through line 13b. This ensures more effective removal of water from the cyclohexane feed to the reactor.

が明瞭である。 It is also possible to provide a condenser (not shown) in line 13b for condensing the cyclohexane vapor in the condenser and supplying the condensed cyclohexane in liquid form to the stripping column 26. The water content of the vapor produced in the distillation column 11, and thus also the water vapor of the condensate, is typically low compared to the water content of the liquid in the stripping column 26, which liquid is transferred to the oxidation reactor at a later stage. It is clear from this that the concentration of water in the cyclohexane feed can be reduced by dilution.
