Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of a moisture detection value from main counter electrodes by providing auxiliary counter electrodes above the position where the main counter electrodes are disposed and near the lower limit level of moisture value measurement and detecting the moisture from an electrostatic capacity value. CONSTITUTION:An electrostatic capacity type moisture measuring instrument W is provided to an inside wall 2 of a tank. The instrument W is provided with the main counter electrodes 4a, 4b above an insulating plate 3 and is provided with the auxiliary counter electrodes 6a, 6b above the same. The electrostatic capacity output from the electrodes 4a-4b, 6a-6b is inputted to a measuring circuit 7 which displays the moisture information with a transfer circuit 11. The measured value is uncertain when the water level falls to a level B slightly upper than the electrodes 4a, 4b as a result of taking the water out of the tank inside. The level B is thereupon detected by the electrodes 6a, 6b provided at the level B and the measured value below the level B is excluded. The sure measurement of the water level in the tank is thus made possible as the lower limit level of the measured value is detected by providing the auxiliary counter electrodes.

However, in the past, no judgment was made whether or not the moisture value determined according to the amount of electrostatic charge between opposing electrodes was reliable. Currently, when moisture content is reduced, the moisture information is read without knowing that the reliability has deteriorated.

The capacitive moisture measuring device of the present invention is configured to detect the moisture value of the object to be measured interposed between the main opposing electrodes as a capacitance value between the main opposing electrodes, and An auxiliary counter electrode is provided above the position near the lower limit level for moisture value measurement, and it is determined from the capacitance value between the auxiliary counter electrodes whether or not the object to be measured is at or above the lower limit level for moisture value measurement. The entire feature is that the processing circuit is configured to determine whether the moisture measurement value is valid or invalid based on the capacitance value between the two.

As explained above, according to the capacitive moisture measurement S* of the present invention, an auxiliary counter electrode is provided for level detection in addition to the main counter electrode for moisture measurement, and level information obtained from the auxiliary counter electrode is used. First, since the reliability of the moisture value information obtained from the main counter electrode is determined, it is possible to avoid the situation where the moisture value information with decreased reliability is overlooked. Furthermore, since both moisture detection and level detection are capacitive, the mechanical structure for mounting, such as installing the sensor part, is easier than when using another type of level meter such as a photoelectric type. It is possible.
