Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent toner from leakage due to the blowing-up of toner by forming an opening part on the back wall of a toner cartridge supporting housing and fitting a bag having the same or more capacity as that of a toner cartridge to the opening part. CONSTITUTION:The toner cartridge supporting housing 12 is fitted to the upper part of a toner box 10 and a cartridge insersion port 14 and the opening part are formed on the front wall and back wall of the housing 12 respectively. The bag 18 is fitted to the opening part. The capacity of the expanded bag 18 is formed so as to be at least the capacity of the toner cartridge or more. When the toner cartridge is inserted into the housing 12, air in the housing 12 can be completely set free into the bag 18.

2. Description of the Related Art In conventional copying machines, printers, and the like, an electrostatic latent image corresponding to an original is formed on a photoreceptor or dielectric, and this is developed with a developer called toner. There are two types of developers: liquid developers and dry developers, but currently, dry developers are becoming mainstream due to their copy quality and ease of handling.

The toner in the dry developer is a consumable item that is consumed as the number of copies increases, and needs to be replenished each time. It can be determined that the toner density has become lighter by observing the copy density, and when the copy density becomes lighter, the operator replenishes toner to the drain box and adjusts the copy density.

Toner is a fine powder and is usually colored black with carbon black or the like, so it easily scatters when replenishing toner, spills outside the copying machine, or adheres to clothing. In order to facilitate toner replenishment and prevent toner from scattering, most current toner replenishment methods use a cartridge type, and the prior art of this cartridge type is disclosed in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 59-10.
No. 1674 and JP-A-59-111659.

Problems to be Solved by the Invention When replenishing toner, when the toner cartridge is moved in and out of the toner cartridge support housing, toner often blows up from the toner cartridge, resulting in a problem in which the toner leaks out of the toner box. . The reason for this is thought to be that when the toner cartridge is inserted into the toner cartridge support housing, the air in the housing has no place to go, and the air flows out toward the cartridge insertion opening of the housing, causing the toner to blow up. .

In order to solve this problem, conventionally an opening was provided at the rear of the toner cartridge support housing and a filter was attached to this opening, but even if the filter was attached, there was still some toner leakage from the filter. Since the air in the housing could not be completely released, the toner blow-up phenomenon could not be completely solved.

In order to solve the above-mentioned problems of the prior art, the present invention provides the following steps:
In a dry developing device that stores and replenishes toner in a cartridge, a toner cartridge support housing into which the toner cartridge is inserted is provided above the toner box, an opening is formed in the rear wall of the toner cartridge support housing, and an opening is formed in the rear wall of the toner cartridge support housing. To provide a toner supply device characterized in that a bag having a volume when inflated is equal to or greater than the volume of a toner cartridge is attached to the toner supply device.

Function The present invention has an opening in the rear wall of the toner cartridge support housing and is configured to attach a bag to this opening, so that when replacing the toner cartridge, when the cartridge is inserted into the cartridge insertion opening of the toner cartridge support housing, the inside of the housing is removed. Air is forced into the cartridge and escapes into the bag, inflating the bag. In this way, even if the toner cartridge is inserted into the housing, the air in the housing can escape into the bag, completely preventing toner from blowing up. This way, toner will not leak out of the machine through the bag.

EXAMPLE Hereinafter, the present invention will be explained in detail based on one embodiment shown in the drawings. Referring to FIG. 1, there is shown a schematic perspective view of a toner supply device of the present invention, in which a toner cartridge support housing 12 is provided on the top of a toner box 10 that stores toner and supplies toner into a developing device. There is. A cartridge insertion opening 14 for inserting the toner cartridge into the housing 12 is provided in the front wall of the toner cartridge support housing 12, and an opening 16 is formed in the rear wall. A bag 18 is attached to the bag 18, and the joint between the opening 16 and the bag 18 should preferably be sealed to prevent air from leaking. The volume when the bag 18 is expanded is at least the volume of the toner cartridge. By adjusting the volume of the bag 18 in this way, when the toner cartridge 20 is inserted into the toner cartridge support housing 12, all the air in the housing can escape into the bag. Although any material can be used for the cover 18, it is preferable to use a fine-grained material to prevent toner from leaking out of the bag.

The operation of the above-described embodiment of the present invention configured in this way will be described below. Referring first to FIG. 3, the toner cartridge 20 is shown not inserted into the toner cartridge support housing 12, and the bag 18 attached to the rear wall of the toner cartridge support housing remains deflated. . Next, referring to FIG. 4, the toner cartridge 20 is inserted into the housing 12.
The toner cartridge 20 is shown inserted into the housing as shown by the arrow, and in this case, the air inside the housing is pushed by the toner cartridge 20 and expands the escape bag 18 into the bag 18. In this way, when the toner cartridge is inserted, the bag 18 expands and air can escape into the bag, so that the toner is blown inside the toner cartridge support housing 12 and the air is blown into the insertion opening 1.
It is possible to prevent troubles such as boiling over from 4. FIG. 5 shows the state when the toner cartridge 20 is pulled out from the housing 12, and as the air inside the bag flows into the housing 12, the bag 18 becomes deflated again.
