[Prior Art] Conventionally, for example, mouthpieces for sports have been designed to continuously cover the molars and the front teeth, but such mouthpieces are made of a rubber-like elastic material of the same hardness. There is. On the other hand, when the mouthpiece is not covered and the upper and lower teeth are just before occlusion, the gap on the front teeth side is generally about twice as large as the gap on the molar side. Therefore, the thickness of the molded mouthpiece on the front tooth side is about twice that of the wall thickness on the molar side.

[Problems to be Solved by the Invention] However, when the upper and lower teeth are brought into occlusion, the molars and the anterior teeth come into contact almost simultaneously, and the occlusal force on the molars is several times greater than on the anterior teeth. Therefore, when the entire mouthpiece is made of a rubber-like elastic material with the same hardness as in the conventional mouthpiece described above, it must be made of a rubber-like elastic material with a relatively high hardness that can withstand the occlusal force on the molar side. If the mouthpiece is made of a rubber-like elastic material with such high hardness, the front teeth cannot elastically deform the mouthpiece during occlusion, and physiological occlusal force cannot be distributed over the entire dentition. on the other hand,
The roots of the molars are divided into 2 to 4 parts and have excellent strength, whereas the roots of the anterior teeth are simple and have poor strength. Therefore, when the upper and lower teeth are strongly bitten using the mouthpiece as described above, a large burden is placed on the front teeth, which not only fails to protect the tooth roots but also has a negative effect on the temporomandibular joints.

Therefore, the present invention is capable of distributing physiological occlusal force to the entire dentition when the upper and lower teeth are bitten, thus protecting the front teeth and their roots in particular, and also protecting the temporomandibular joints. The aim is to provide a mouthpiece that allows this.

[Means for Solving the Problems] The technical means of the present invention for solving the above problems is made of a rubber-like elastic material, in which the hardness of the occlusal part on the anterior tooth side is equal to the hardness of the occlusal part on the molar side. It is made smaller.

[Function] When the upper and lower teeth are bitten with the above configuration, the mouthpiece is elastically deformed in the front teeth where the occlusal force is weak to approximately the same extent as the molars where the occlusal force is strong, and the entire dentition is physiologically deformed. It is possible to disperse the occlusal force.

First, the first embodiment will be explained. As shown in FIGS. 1 to 4, the mouthpiece 1 of this embodiment is used for upper jaw teeth, and is made of a rubber-like elastic material, such as silicone rubber, and is formed into a horseshoe shape as a whole. An outer wall 3 and an inner wall 4 are integrally provided on the outer edge and inner edge of the occlusal part 2, respectively. Notches 5 are provided in the center and upper parts of both sides of the outer wall 3, respectively.
and 6 are formed. The anterior tooth side bite portion 2a of the bite portion 2 is formed to be about twice as thick as the molar side bite portion 2b.

Therefore, the occlusal force on the anterior tooth side is approximately 1 compared to the occlusal force on the molar side.
/4, and as mentioned above, the thickness of the anterior tooth side occlusal part 2a is approximately twice as thick as the thickness of the molar side occlusal part 2b, so the other parts except the molar side occlusal part 2b are the molar teeth. A silicone rubber rubber whose hardness is about 172 times smaller than that of the molar side occlusal part 2b is used, and this molar side occlusal part 2b and the adjacent occlusal part 2 are
are integrally connected during molding, so that the hardness of the anterior tooth side occlusal part 2a is smaller than the hardness of the molar side occlusal part 2b. This connecting part 2C is set so that the molar side occlusal part 2b, which has a higher hardness, and the adjacent occlusal part 2, which has a lower hardness, become thinner toward the distal end, so that there is no sudden difference in hardness in the connecting part 2C. It is desirable to do so.

Note that the mouthpiece 1 of the above embodiment can be molded by a conventional mouthpiece molding method, and the rubber-like elastic material used for this molding is not limited to silicone rubber, and other thermoplastic resins may be used. Alternatively, thermosetting resin can be used. Further, it is desirable that the outer surface of the occlusal part 2 be formed into a relatively smooth surface so that the cusp of the lower jaw does not dig into it.

Therefore, when the upper and lower teeth are strongly bitten, the anterior tooth side occlusal part 2a
Since the hardness is smaller than that of the molar side occlusal part 2b, each occlusal part 2a, 2b can be elastically deformed almost uniformly on the anterior tooth side as well as on the molar side, and physiological occlusal force is applied to the entire dentition. can be dispersed.

Next, a second embodiment of the present invention will be explained based on FIGS. 5 to 7. In the first embodiment, the mouthpiece 1 is molded to fit the required teeth, but in this second embodiment, the mouthpiece 1 can be molded to fit the required teeth in a short time and easily. It was designed to let you do so. A mouthpiece main body 17 having an occlusal part 12, an outer wall 13, and an inner wall 14 is formed in advance from silicone rubber. In this mouthpiece body 17, the front teeth side occlusion part 12a is formed to be about twice as thick as the molar side occlusion part 12b, and the hardness of the front teeth side occlusion part 12a is smaller than the hardness of the molar side occlusion part 12b. It is shaped like this and fits into the upper jaw teeth of any shape.
The inner space is slightly larger so that it can be opened.

If necessary, a relatively thin gap layer 18 made of silicone rubber that cures at room temperature is applied to the inside of the mouthpiece body 17, and in this state it is fitted onto the upper jaw teeth and the upper and lower teeth are brought into occlusion. The mouthpiece 11 can be formed by deforming and hardening the gap layer 18 to match the shape of the upper jaw teeth. Other configurations and operations are similar to those of the first embodiment.

[Effects of the Invention] As is clear from the above description, according to the present invention, the tooth is made of a rubber-like elastic material, and the hardness of the occlusal part on the anterior tooth side is smaller than the hardness of the occlusal part on the molar side. Therefore, when the upper and lower teeth are in occlusion, the occlusal area of the anterior teeth where the occlusal force is weak is elastically deformed almost uniformly in the same way as the occlusal area on the molar side where the occlusal force is strong. Physiological occlusal force can be distributed over the whole area, and therefore the front teeth and their roots can be particularly protected, and the temporomandibular joints can be protected.
