Abstract

PURPOSE:To retract a cleaning member from the surface of a photosensitive body without using any dedicated operation source by utilizing the reversing of a driving source which drives the photosensitive body. CONSTITUTION:The cleaning member 4 which cleans up the surface of the photosensitive body 1 is supported by a support 6 which has a shaft 8 and a weight 9 to contact the surface of the photosensitive body, and the other cleaning member 5 is supported by a support 7 which has a shaft 10 and is energized by a spring 11. A gear 12 engages a drum gear 2 which drives the photosensitive body 1, and the gear 12 is disengaged from the shaft 8 by a one-way clutch during copying operation. The gear 12 is rotated clockwise by the reversing of a photosensitive body driving motor after the copying operation; and the support 6 rotates clockwise through the operation of the clutch and the support 7 rotates counterclockwise to separate the cleaning members 4 and 5 from the surface of the photosensitive body. Therefore, the need for the operation source dedicated to the cleaning member is eliminated to clean up the photosensitive body securely with the simple structure.

に接触する清掃部材により感光体の回転に伴ってトナー
の清掃が行なわれるのであるが、その清掃部材を機械停
止時にも常に感光体表面に接触させたままだと感光体に
悪影響を及ぼすこととなる。そこで、これを回避するに
は、機械停止時には清掃部材が感光体表面からリトラク
トするような機構が要求され、一般にはそのリトラクト
をソレノイドを用いて行なう方法が採られるが、この方
法では、清掃部材のりトラクトをソレノイドの動作で行
なうのであるから、そのような専用の動作源となるもの
を別途設ける必要がある。
