Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase a filtration area of a filter element with miniaturized size of the element by forming a bag-shaped parts closed at both ends at plural parts of the element and allowing adjacent bent parts of plural wave-shaped parts to confront to each other. CONSTITUTION:A filter medium 1 is so constructed that bent parts 1b of plural wave-shaped parts 1a are faced oppositely to each other to form dead spaces 2a, 2b between said opposing parts and that the element is formed to have a ring- shaped body as a whole so as to be able to contain plural numbers of opposing parts having said dead spaces 2a, 2b. Also, both ends of the filter element 1 are bonded with an adhesive agent so that said ring-shaped body can be held. In the opposing parts 3a, all of the dead space 2a are communicated with each other and are communicated also with the inside part 4 of the ring-shaped filter medium 10. Further, the oppsing parts 3b are not communicated with the inside part 4 of the filter member by the connecting part 5, and the opposing parts 3a are constructed to form bags 7.

(Prior Art) A conventionally known filter element of this type is described, for example, in US Pat. No. 2,768,752. This is a furnace material that has a large number of corrugated sections in cross section, and the entire ring-shaped section is configured so that the corrugated sections are in contact with each other, and the fluid is passed between the contact sections of the corrugated sections. This is a so-called surface filtration method in which dust, sludge, etc. in the fluid is removed while the fluid passes between the contact portions.

In the conventional method described above, in order to effectively clean unfiltered fluid, it is necessary to increase the length of the contact part of the corrugated part, that is, the length of the entire ring-shaped part in the radial direction, so the corrugated shape There is a risk that the strength of the parts may decrease or the parts may become deformed.

In FIGS. 1 to 4, the furnace material l is provided with a plurality of corrugated portions 1a formed by bending itself. As can be seen particularly clearly in FIG.
The overall ring-shape is formed such that the two are opposed to each other and spaces 2a, 2b are provided between the facing parts, and a plurality of opposing parts 3 having the spaces 2a, 2b are provided. Also, in order to maintain the ring shape, both ends of the two door materials 1 are connected to the first
They are joined at the points shown in the figure using an adhesive (for example, a polyamide-based bot-melt type resin adhesive).

In the plurality of opposing parts 3 of the ring-shaped furnace material 10 configured as described above, the voids 2a formed in the plurality of opposing parts 3a at every other place communicate with the inner side 4 of the ring-shaped furnace material 10. . That is, in the opposing portion 3a, since the opposing portions of the bent portions 1b of the wave-shaped portion 1a are separated as shown in the figure, all of the spaces 2a in the opposing portion 3a communicate with each other, and the ring-shaped portions 1b are separated from each other as shown in the figure. It communicates with the inside 4 of the door material 10. Moreover, the voids 2b in the other plurality of opposing parts 3b of the ring-shaped door member 10 are isolated so as not to communicate with the inner side 4 of the furnace member 10. That is, this opposing portion 3
In b, the innermost portions of the mutually opposing corrugated portions la are integrally connected, so that the connecting portions 5 do not communicate with the inner side 4 of the furnace material 10.

Incidentally, the furnace material 1 is a belt-shaped furnace material 1' (for example, made of filter paper) shown in FIG. 5 and FIG. 6, which is a partially enlarged view of FIG. It is constructed by bending. The interval between the folding lines is continuously changed (see Fig. 6), and by changing this continuously, the folding lines are applied to the furnace material 1' in a state in which certain areas are alternately repeated in a line-symmetrical manner. It is. Therefore, if this furnace material 1' is bent along the fold line and both ends are joined, the furnace material 1' shown in FIG.
is obtained. FIG. 7 shows the correspondence of the folding line positions when the furnace material 1' in FIG. 6 is bent.

Next, the flow path of the fluid to the furnace and over-element having the above-mentioned configuration will be explained. For example, when unfiltered fluid flows from below the filtration element, the fluid flows from below the spaces 2b of the plurality of opposing parts 3b into the spaces 2b,
It passes through the corrugated portion 1a separating the cavity 2b from the cavity 2a of the bag-shaped portion 7, and reaches the cavity 2a of the bag-shaped portion 7. The fluid that has flowed into the cavity 2a of this bag-shaped portion 7 is transferred to the corrugated portion 1.
It flows out into the inner side 4 of the furnace material 10 while flowing into the adjacent space 2a through the opposing gap χ of the bent portion 1b of a.

Application examples of the filter element having such a filtering action will be described below. First, referring to a lubricating oil filter for an internal combustion engine, in FIG. 8, a filter element 8 of the present invention is housed in a metal container 11 with a perforated metal cylinder 9 fixed inside thereof. The open end of the container 11 has a screw hole 12a in the center and a plurality of openings 12 on the outer periphery.
A ring-shaped metal end plate 12 having a diameter b is disposed, and a thin ring plate welded and fixed to the end plate 12 is locked around the opening end of the container 11. In the figure, 14 is a rubber check valve, 15 is a spring, 16 is a metal end plate fixed to the cylinder 9, and 17 is a rubber gasket.

(1) As shown in Fig. 10, both ends of the ring-shaped furnace material 1o, that is, the entire area of both ends of the plurality of opposing parts 3a and 3b, are closed with end plates 25 and 26 made of metal or the like. It's okay. In this case, the fluid passes through the corrugated portion 1a at the outermost side of the opposing portion 3a and reaches the cavity 2a of the core portion 3a, or the fluid flows through the bent portion Ib of the corrugated portion 1a at the opposing portion 3b.
Through the contact gap y (see FIG. 1), they reach the void 2a of the adjacent facing portion 3a in the same manner as in the previous embodiment.

(2) In FIG. 2, the bent portions 1b of the wave-shaped portions 1a in the facing portion 3b are in contact with each other, but they may be separated without contacting each other. Moreover, in this facing portion 3b,
Although the space between the adjacent wave-shaped portions 1a is relatively wide to form the space 2b, the gap between the wave-shaped portions 1a may be narrowed as long as it does not impede the flow of fluid.
