Abstract

PURPOSE:To speed up the combustion of emulsion oil, by making the same burn within a space to which an electric field is bestowed. CONSTITUTION:A plate 1 made of aluminum prepared is grounded. A dotted electrode 2 is provided at a position 40mm. above the plate 1 and AC voltage of 50Hz is applied to a space between the position and the ground through a transformer 3. A period of time until combustion is completed has been measured by putting 10g of emulsion oil to be made by adding water to light oil so that moisture content becomes 20% within the plate 1. When oil is made to burn without applying the voltage to the electrode 2, though the light oil burns in 120sec, 305sec are necessary in case of the emulsion oil. Even if, however, it is the emulsion oil the voltage of 3.0kV is applied to the electrode 2. It is burnt in 96sec. In addition to the above, when the voltage is raised, combustion period of time is shortened all the more and when the voltage of 15kV is applied, the combustion period of time is reduced to 44sec, that is, 37% of that available at the time of nonapplication of the voltage to the light oil and 14% of that available at the time of nonapplication of the voltage to the emulsion oil.

This method will be explained below based on experimental examples. As shown in FIG. 1, an aluminum plate L (diameter 6υ) is prepared and grounded. A dot-shaped electrode 2 is provided at a position of 40 nodes above this plate, and a transformer 3 is connected between this point and the ground for 50H.

Further, in this experimental example, the frequency of the power source was 50 Hz, but even if the frequency is direct current or other frequency, the combustion promoting effect can be obtained by applying an electric field in the same manner as above. In this case, as the frequency increases, the 1”-combustion promoting effect increases, and l
It reaches its maximum around KHz and tends to gradually decrease thereafter. Therefore, by using a frequency below 1.5-2 KHz, the burning rate of emulsified oil is significantly increased. Therefore, a large amount of combustion per hour, that is, a large heat output can be obtained with a small combustion chamber. Moreover, the unburned fuel becomes minimal, the calorific value increases, and the combustion temperature rises. Therefore, the microscopic water particles that are a characteristic of emulsified oil induce the so-called water gas reaction,
A significant increase in combustion efficiency is obtained. Furthermore, higher combustion temperatures can be obtained compared to when using 100% fuel.

したがって本発明は一般燃焼を必要とする場合は勿論、
特に多量の燃料を使用する大型発電用ボイラ等において
有利となるものである。
Therefore, the present invention is applicable not only when general combustion is required, but also when general combustion is required.
This is particularly advantageous in large power generation boilers that use large amounts of fuel.
