It was used for many purposes such as catalyzing oxidation.

Therefore, instead of such a honeycomb structure, it has already been proposed to use a three-dimensional mesh body made of ceramic and having an amorphous skeleton structure as a filter or a catalyst carrier. In this way, a three-dimensional network with amorphous and connected voids has a large surface area that interacts with the circulating gas, and has a relatively high oxidation reaction and filtration (capturing) rate for carbon particles, but for example, it is difficult to capture carbon particles. Therefore, if a three-dimensional mesh body with the optimal average pore diameter is used, the distribution pores with the same average pore diameter will be distributed throughout all parts, such as the part where the gas flows in, the internal circulation route, and the discharge part. Therefore, when particles are captured in the inlet, the flow holes in the inlet will trap even smaller particles due to the presence of the captured particles, causing early clogging in the inlet and damaging the flow path. Even though the discharge part has not lost any of its functions, its filtration and catalytic functions deteriorate over a short period of time, resulting in a short lifespan.

In addition to the method of combining cylinders with different densities, impregnating them with ceramic slurry, drying and firing them, and the second method, which removes the cell membrane and produces urethane foam materials with different cell diameters. There is a method of manufacturing by cutting into cylindrical shapes, impregnating each with ceramic slurry, drying, firing, and then combining and integrating the shapes.

Not only that, but the foam material cannot be used efficiently.

不都合が発生し易い。That is, in addition to generating a large amount of chips when cutting out a cylindrical shape, it also required shaping after firing, making it difficult to manufacture at a low cost and not having good productivity. More importantly, in the filter made by the above manufacturing method, the areas with different densities do not change gently, but the density changes suddenly from the boundary area, so when carbon particles are captured, for example, The part of the filter that captures the image will be biased. Therefore, the filter is re-fired to remove the captured carbon particles by firing, but during this re-firing, the part where the carbon particles are present generates a significant amount of heat, and the mesh density and , large thermal strain occurs due to the difference in the existing density of the skeleton, and as a result, it is easy to break and there is a risk of melting due to local heat generation. Moreover, with the above manufacturing method, the bonding strength between the densely woven portion and the coarsely woven portion is low, and when vibrations are applied, problems such as damage gradually progressing from the boundary portion are likely to occur.

The foam film is removed in advance and is shaped into a plate, which has the required width h and length r depending on the height and diameter of the cylindrical porous body to be produced. As shown in Fig. 2, such a polyurethane foam material 1 has notched grooves 2 formed at equal intervals parallel to the central axis of the cylindrical shape or in areas close to the central axis to increase the distribution. It is. As shown in FIG. 3, the polyurethane foam material l provided with a plurality of notched grooves 2 is shaped so that one end constitutes the central axis of the cylindrical body and the surface on which the notched grooves 2 are formed is on the inside. Roll it up. In this case, the end of the rolled up polyurethane foam material 1 must be attached with an adhesive or fixed with a synthetic resin clip to prevent the polyurethane foam material 1 from returning to its original plate shape.

By firing in an atmosphere at a temperature of 600'C (D) for about 4 to 5 hours, the polyurethane foam material 1 is burned out, and the ceramic adhering to the skeleton surface of the foam material 1 is sintered, resulting in ceramic and resin. It is possible to produce a cylindrical porous body A as shown in Fig. 4, which is composed of a three-dimensional network with a skeleton. The raw material for the ceramic that constitutes the skeleton is cordierite (2Mgo, 2A

It is also possible to manufacture the cylindrical porous body A by impregnating the undried material with the material and rolling it up into a cylindrical shape, followed by a drying process and firing.

When the polyurethane foam material 1 is used, or when the foam material 1 is rolled up into a cylindrical shape, the roughness can be changed as appropriate by adjusting the pressure.

能である。As described above, the cylindrical porous body according to the present invention has a small porosity and the densely woven part is formed in a spiral shape with respect to the central axis, so it has high mechanical strength and the densely woven part and the coarse part are continuous. Because they exist alternately and in multiple layers, it is possible to construct a filter that can efficiently perform filtration and catalytic actions, and it is also possible to create a cylindrical body by rolling up plate-shaped foam materials into a roll cake shape. According to the manufacturing method of the present invention, which utilizes the same to manufacture a cylindrical porous body made of ceramic, a sheet of synthetic resin such as polyurethane from which the bubble membrane has been removed is rolled up and rolled into a cylindrical shape. Impregnating foam material with ceramic slurry,
By supporting it, it is possible to easily produce a desired cylindrical porous body in which the rough density of the mesh changes smoothly and continuously.

ど多くの特徴をもっている。That is, in addition to using plate-shaped foams with various pore diameters, the winding pressure of the plate-shaped foam material, the width depth, the distribution number, etc. of the notched grooves 2 to be formed as necessary are set as appropriate. By doing this, a porous body with a desired mesh size can be obtained. Moreover, since a plate-shaped foam is used instead of a cylindrical-cut foam, porous bodies can be manufactured efficiently and at low cost without wasting materials such as urethane foam. It has many characteristics.
