孔の数を少くし鋳孔の充填、溶接による欠陥の発生を少
なくしようとする配慮によるものである。また鋳造に際
しては巾木3aを下部鋳型4aで支え、これに上部鋳型
4bをのせ、鋳孔をかねる押湯5より溶融鋳鋼をつぎこ
むものである。この場合鋳鋼の比重は7.&鋳物砂の見
掛比重が1.5てあることより中子2は「体積×(7.
8−1.5)」の浮力を受けることとなる。また溶湯の
温度は高温(鉄の融点は1535゜C)であることから
溶湯に接触する巾木部の温度上昇は大である。芯金6の
温度が800゜C以上になるとヤング率の低下は急速に
大となることと中子が上方に浮き上り変位する力を受け
ることにより中空ボール肉厚に偏肉を生ずることとなる
。また鋳造後のの偏肉(基準値に対して)3m77Iま
では使用上差支えないと許容し修正加工することができ
る。この発明は発明者等が先に提案したごとく鋳造用孔
を開放孔として使用し、中空部に被粉砕物か充填された
状態て使用することを考慮し巾木の数を2本とし鋳造す
る中空ボールの構造を提案するものである。

造用孔8の孔数は4個とし発明者が先に提案したごとく
鋳造後には開放された鋳造用孔8となる部分の内壁側に
ボス状突起である補強突起9を設けるものである。実用
試験の結果、開放された鋳造用孔8の直径dは中空ボー
ル1の内径Dの約15%にすることが製造上及び耐磨耗
の点においても良いことが判つた。
