Abstract

CONSTITUTION:A switch 6 to actuate a main body 1 of an air conditioner is fitted on the top of a remote-control apparatus 5 and a transmitting light emitting element 7 such as an infrared ray emitting diode is equipped by turning it toward a light transmission end face of an optical fiber 4. A receiving part 2 is tied with a fitting part 3 of the remote-control apparatus through the optical fiber 4. When the remote-control apparatus 5 of the air conditioner constituted in this manner is removed from the fitting part 3, an operating signal is transmitted toward the receiving part 2 by an atmospheric wave through an infrared ray. When the remote-control apparatus 5 is fitted to the fitting part 3, the operating signal is transmitted to a light receiving element of the receiving part 2 by infrared ray through the optical fiber 4.
