改良が望まれていたものである。Conventional phenolic resin varnish for impregnating electric wires and coils is simply a varnish made by dissolving resol-type phenolic resin in alcohol, so the coating is hard and brittle, has poor adhesion to the underlying metal, and is prone to sagging or thick coating. There are drawbacks such as non-uniformity and the tendency of foaming in thick areas of the coating film during curing, and improvements have been desired.

Polyvinyl butyral 80 to 40 (hereinafter simply expressed as %)
The present invention will be described in detail below using a varnish for coating metal surfaces, which is characterized in that it is dissolved in an organic solvent. The phenols used in the present invention are not particularly limited, and include phenols in general, such as phenol, cresol, xylenol, etc. alone, mixtures, and modified products. Polyvinyl butyral is not particularly limited, and commonly used polyvinyl butyral can be used as is. The ratio of resol type phenolic resin to polyvinyl butyral is required to be 80 to 40% polyvinyl butyral to 20 to 60% of resol type phenolic resin. That is, if the content of polyvinyl butyral is less than 40%, the plasticity of the coating film will be lost, and if it exceeds 80%, the heat resistance will decrease. Organic solvents include methyl alcohol, ethyl alcohol,
Acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, toluene, etc. may be used singly or as a mixture, and there are no particular limitations as long as they can dissolve the resol type phenol resin and polyvinyl butyral. Note that coloring agents such as paints and pigments, surfactants, coupling agents, etc. may be added to the varnish as necessary.
