Conventionally, in a lamp assembly such as a fog lamp for a vehicle, as shown in Fig. 1, a collar part C of a bulb b can be attached and detached to the rear of a reflector a, which is formed by pressing a metal plate into the shape of a substantially paraboloid of revolution. The bulb holder d to be attached to the lens is fixed with rivets, etc., and the peripheral leg of the lens g is attached via an adhesive f applied all around the annular groove e formed on the periphery of the front opening of the reflector a. are arranged in a watertight manner to constitute the lamp body, and a flange portion i formed around the peripheral leg of the lens g
The rim frame j, which has an abbreviated cross-section, is brought into contact with the rim frame j, and the rim frame j and the silk-like housing are assembled using screws, etc., and the lamp body is held in a sandwiched manner. .

In order to attach the lamp assembly thus constructed to the bumper of a vehicle, the bracket 1 is fixed to the lower part of the housing with a rivet or the like, and is provided with an angle-adjustable mounting device m.

Therefore, the angle of a conventional lamp assembly can be adjusted in a desired direction when it is attached to a bumper or the like, but such a conventional lamp assembly is installed in a lamp chamber defined by a reflector a and a lens g. Since the adhesive f is exposed, impurities contained in the adhesive f evaporate due to heat from the bulb b and changes over time, forming a layer on the back surface of the lens g or the surface of the reflecting mirror a. As a result, the amount of light transmitted by the lens g or the reflection by the reflecting mirror a is reduced, resulting in a decrease in lamp performance and a deterioration in appearance.

In addition, in order to prevent the lamp body from vibrating between the rim frame i and the housing when the vehicle is running when it is installed on a bumper, etc., several notches are made on the periphery of the housing and the protrusions are bent inward. A cushioning material 0 is interposed between the protruding piece n and the back surface of the annular groove e of the reflector, but the process of bending the protruding piece n inward creates an undercut. Therefore, an additional 4-step press process is required, and if the separately manufactured projecting piece n is fixed to the periphery of the housing by spot welding, more parts are required and more effort is required for parts management. However, if there are any spots left after spot welding, they will look like pockmarks and spoil the appearance.

Further, since the adhesive 6 applied in the groove 20 remains elastic even when solidified, it acts as a cushioning material, and a separate cushioning material for vibration resistance as in the conventional case can be omitted. Since the provision of a can also be omitted, the number of parts and assembly can be simplified.

Furthermore, when the screw 8 is screwed onto the reflecting mirror 2 through the housing 5, the peripheral edge 51 of the housing 5 is exposed to the adhesive 6.
Since the reflecting mirror 2 and the housing 5 are pressed against each other, the water resistance between the reflecting mirror 2 and the housing 5 can also be improved.

As described above, the lamp assembly of the present invention includes a reflector in which a bulb is disposed, a lens that covers the front opening of the reflector, and a flange formed on the peripheral leg of the lens. The abutting rim frame, which has a curved cross section, and the housing that houses the reflector are cut out, and the opening periphery of the reflector is brought into contact with the bottom surface of the peripheral leg of the lens, and the rim frame is removed from the lens. An annular groove is formed between the peripheral wall of the reflector and the rim frame by protruding rearward from the peripheral leg, an adhesive having elasticity is applied to the groove after solidification, and the adhesive is hardened. After that, the peripheral edge of the housing was brought into contact with the solidified adhesive, and in this state, the housing and the reflecting mirror were fixed with screws, etc., so that there was no risk of evaporation of impurities or other problems in lamp performance due to the adhesive being exposed inside the lamp chamber. Not only can it prevent deterioration, but it can also be applied to the annular groove formed between the peripheral wall of the reflector and the rim frame, without requiring separate cushioning materials and protrusions as in the past. The reflective mirror and lens form a watertight lamp chamber using the adhesive, and the adhesive also serves as a cushioning material that prevents the lamp from vibrating within the housing, reducing the number of parts. A lamp assembly with good assemblability can be obtained.
