器として使用するときには、ガラス管に水蒸気や温水等
の加熱用媒体を流通させると共に、加熱すべき液体をケ
ーシング内に導くものである。

るから、熱交換器を大型化することなく、その冷却又は
加熱能力を著しく大きくすることができる効果があり、
限られた空間内に大きい能力の熱交換器を配設する場合
等に好適である。
