Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable a head gap to be maintained within a fixed range despite temperature changes by permitting an expanding or shrinking action of a support member due to temperature changes based on reference rims formed on right and left frames. CONSTITUTION:In a platen 2, a cylindrical pressure receiving body 4 made of a synthetic resin is fixed on the circumference of a steel core 3 with a circular cross-section and the thickness thereof 4 is set at A in the dimension. The platen 2 turns to feed paper by one pitch and moves a carrier 9 to perform a printing. As the thickness A of the pressure receiving body 4 of the platen 2 varies due to temperature changes, the dimension A' from the fixed end to the core 3 changes with respect to a reference rim 13 of a support member 11. But the coefficient of linear expansion and the thickness A of the pressure receiving body 4 are set and the coefficient of linear expansion and the dimension A' of the support member 11 also done so that variations in the linear expansion of both the parts can be equal thereby enabling a head gap (s) to be kept constant regardless of temperature changes. This can prevent possible difference in the density of printing and fouling of paper by an ink ribbon.

Technical background of the invention and its problems As shown in Figure 6, the platen (2) facing the dot printer head (1) has a pressure receiving body made of hard rubber or synthetic resin on the outer surface of a metal core material (3). (4) is often used. Place the paper on the platen (2) (
5) In the case of feeding, both the pressure receiving body (4) and the core material (3) have a circular cross section, but the paper (5) fed by other rollers is not necessarily circular in cross section. In any case, it is well known that in the case of a dot printer, the head gap between the dot printer head (1) and the platen (2) must be adjusted within a narrow range of 0.02-0.051 am. However, even if adjusted within this range during assembly, the linear expansion coefficient of the pressure receiving body (4) made of rubber or synthetic resin is that of the core material (3).
is also large, so the linear expansion change in the thickness A direction is large.
The head gap S cannot be controlled within a narrow tolerance range. For example, if A is 12.7am, 5
When the temperature changes by 0°C, the human value changes by 0.06 to 0.09.

By reducing the thickness A of the pressure receiving body (4), the amount of change in linear expansion can be reduced. There will be variations in the gap. If B is large, the print will be thin, and if s is small, paper (5

Summary of the Invention This invention has a platen formed by fixing a non-metallic pressure receiving body to the outer surface of a core material, in which left and right support members are provided to hold both ends of the core material, and the dot printer head side of these support members is provided. One end edge is fixed to a reference edge formed on the left and right frames, and the support member is allowed to expand and contract based on temperature changes with this reference edge as a reference, and linear expansion and contraction changes in the thickness direction of the pressure receiving body under the same temperature conditions. Therefore, after assembly and adjustment, the desired head gap is always maintained regardless of temperature changes, preventing differences in printing shading and staining the paper. It is configured so that it can be used.

In this configuration, the platen (2) is rotated to feed the paper in one pitch, and the carrier (9) is moved to perform printing. As the temperature changes, the thickness A of the pressure receiving body (4) of the sieving platen (2) changes, and the dimension A' from the fixed end to the reference edge (13) of the support member αυ from the core material (3) also changes. , the linear expansion coefficient of the pressure receiving body (4) is αR1, and the linear expansion coefficient of the support member aυ is αC, then the platen (2) and the dot printer head (1) when the temperature changes by ΔT.
The change in the head gap center (ΔT) between ΔT and ΔT is expressed by the following equation.

RA and αCA' can be made equal, and the head gap S can be kept constant regardless of temperature changes, thereby preventing the occurrence of shading differences in printing and staining of the paper by the ink ribbon. I can do it.

Both ends of the core material aη are fixed to support members (2) made of synthetic resin. One end edge Qυ of the support member (a) is bonded to the reference edge a (to) with an adhesive a9, but in order to increase the bonding area to the frame (6) as in the previous embodiment, an adhesive reinforcement piece (161 are integrally formed. The pressure receiving body all and the support member (4) are made of the same material and have the same coefficient of linear expansion. Also, the thickness A of the pressure receiving body

Effects of the Invention Since the present invention is configured as described above, when the thickness of the pressure receiving body of the platen changes due to temperature, the support member that holds the core material of the platen expands and expands with respect to the reference edge of the frame. The head gap can be kept within a certain range by equalizing the amount of change in linear expansion between the two, preventing the paper from being smeared by the ink ribbon, and achieving clear printing. It is effective.
