Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable finding of a condition in which a residual amount of fuel is decreased to below a given value, by a method wherein electrical signals, which control the supply of liquid fuel, are integrated and counted. CONSTITUTION:A given decrease amount of fuel is set by a setter 20 to input it to a microcomputer 19, and an amount, equivalent to 100%, of liquid fuel is poured into a tank 16. A decrease amount of the fuel at a current point of time is set to 0%, and an integrated value is reset to 0. When operation is started, combustion control is effected on a burner 11 according to an instruction from the computer 19, and simultaneously, driving pulse signals from an electromagnetic pump 17 are integrated and counted to calculate an amount of fuel used. When the fuel is decreased to a given decrease amount, a display output is outputted, various display units 21 set in proper positions are actuated to report that a residual amount of the fuel in the tank 16 is very low, and the fuel is supplied in the tank 16. After an amount of the fuel is increased to 100%, an integrating and counting value is reset. Thereafter, the above motions are repeated to reliably report a decrease in the amount of the fuel to a given value.

Detailed Description of the Invention (Technical Field) The present invention relates to a water heater that heats water passing through a heat exchanger using combustion gas from a burner and supplies the water to a bathtub or the like. means to notify that the number has decreased.

(Prior art) To check the remaining amount of liquid fuel in the fuel tank, either install a level gauge 2 in the fuel tank 1 as shown in Fig. 1, or apply a weak current and turn the switch at a predetermined level. It is common to install a float sensor 3 that detects when the remaining amount is reduced to a predetermined amount or less when turned on.

In the former case, a person must check the liquid level on the level gauge 1 to determine when to refuel. In this case, if the amount of liquid fuel decreases due to differences in the frequency of use of the combustion equipment, it becomes unclear how much liquid fuel remains, and if the remaining amount is forgotten, there is a risk that the replenishment period will be missed and the combustion equipment will not be able to operate. Therefore, managers of combustion equipment (such as housewives) must always pay attention to the remaining amount of liquid fuel, which is complicated.

In the latter case, since the external display is activated based on the electrical signals from flow 1 to sensor 3, it becomes possible to accurately know when the fuel has decreased below a predetermined level, and it is possible to determine when to refuel. Although this eliminates the hassle, since an external indicator that operates based on the detection signal of the float sensor is required, the relationship between the fuel tank and the combustion equipment becomes stronger, and the versatility of the fuel tank becomes poor. In other words, devices from different manufacturers may not be easily connected, resulting in a lack of compatibility.

The microcomputer 19 is a display device, and the microcomputer 19 uses the setting value of the setting device 20 and the detected value of each sensor to create various signals necessary for operating the combustion equipment, such as combustion strength, combustion time, etc., and also controls the electromagnetic pump 17. The amount of decrease in fuel in the tank 16 is calculated by cumulatively counting the driving electric signal (pulse signal), and compared with a set value.

Next, the operation will be described. First, a predetermined reduction amount of liquid fuel (for example, 90% reduction of the total amount) is set using the setting device 20 and input into the microcomputer 19, and an amount of liquid fuel corresponding to 100% is injected into the tank 16. Then, the accumulated value is reset to zero by assuming that the fuel reduction amount at this point is 0%.◎ After this state is established, when the combustion equipment starts operating, the control circuit 1
8 operates, various control signals are output, and the combustion control of the burner 11 is performed. At the same time, the drive pulse signal of the electromagnetic pump 17 is sent to the microcomputer 19 to output the totalizer 1.
counted. In other words, the amount of fuel used (the amount of reduction in the tank 16) is calculated.

(Effects of the Invention) As described above, according to the present invention, the amount of liquid fuel fed from the fuel tank to the burner is calculated by integrating the drive pulses of the electromagnetic pump etc. using a microcomputer. Therefore, there is no need to attach a level gauge or float sensor to the fuel tank, and the tank has a general structure with only an inlet for replenishment and an outlet for supply (often limited to combustion equipment models). In other words, versatility is improved. Also, since the tank has a simple structure, the number of processing steps is reduced and it can be manufactured at low cost.Furthermore, since the reduction in the predetermined amount of fuel is accurately notified, the amount of remaining fuel is reduced. The need to pay attention to quantity is significantly reduced, making management easier.
